This is a great toy - I got it for my grandson's fourth birthday and he loves it. He does need adult help with it right now, but I'm confident that he'll soon be able to make his own creations with it. It is for 5+ years but my little guy is a builder and he already fully understands the concepts. I anticipate expanding on this in the future as it is the kind of toy that a kid can play with independently and learn from.

A bit confusing. My son loved watching his dad build it but then got bored and didn’t actually play with it after. Personally I wouldn’t recommend but that’s just from our experience

Bought for my grandson as a birthday present---he hasn't whinged at me so I presume its ok

Fantastic fun- colourful and hours of fun- a little parental guidance to begin with.

This is such an amazing kit for STEM learning.I think its pitched at the perfect age to start getting kids interested in these types of learning.It is really easy to follow but teaches lots of skills that kids can apply to lots of other types of learning. I would definitely recommend to others.

If I spent the equivalent money on Lego it would take my 7year old around 60 mins to make and this set was made in 20 minsPlus a lego set at this price would handle being played with but the robot, which my son made first, kept falling apartAnd as soon as we opened the box, although the product pieces are well made, I imagine the pieces were sourced for around a quid from ChinaWithout the acronym STEM this set would be worth around £15-£20 and be great value. With the acronym STEM they are sliding into my bank account making me feel like good about myself buying something educational for my kid whilst on the other hand robbing me of a months supply of beer money

My 6 year old loves this robot gears set, this set comes with instruction to build the robot that are easy to follow, my little one dies also enjoy to use his imagination and create his own robots and vehicles with this set, it is of good quality provides hours of creative imaginative play.

Die Roboter kommen!"Das "LER9228 Gears Aktion, Mint, Zahnradspiel, Roboter-Zahnräder, Ab 5 Jahren" von Learning Resources kam schnell und gut bei uns an, verpackt in einem großen, bunten und stabilen Pappkarton. Darin findet man eine Plastiktüte mit den 116 Teilen und eine bebilderte Faltblattanleitung (auch in Deutsch). Die noch ein mal die Teile aufzeigt und die entsprechende Anzahl (bei uns waren alle vorhanden) und drei Aufbau-Beispiele für drei verschiedene Roboter.Einzige Kritik von uns ist der viel zu große Karton, der leider keine Unterteilungen zum Einsortieren enthält. Muss man sich aus ein paar Pappestreifen am besten selber basteln und einsetzen. So gestaltet sich die Suche nach Teilen leichter und es klappert nicht so toll herum.Die Teile sind alle gut verarbeitet. Nichts ist scharfkantig oder verzogen. Die meisten sind aus farblichen Plastik. Nur die sechs Riemen aus Gummi (vier Blaue und zwei Orange).Das Aufbauen geht mit etwas Fantasie und Geschick auch sehr einfach.Und was auch sehr cool ist, ist dass man sie mit vielen weiteren Kästen von Learning Resources kombinieren kann bzw auch mit anderen Anbietern ähnlicher Konstruktionsspielzeuge.Unsere beiden Tester Max (4,5) und Emily (5,5) sind sehr begeistert und spielen gern damit. Das Spielzeug fördert wirklich sehr gut Fantasie und Motorik.Und da es aus Plastik ist und sehr robust kann man es auch an die nächste Bau- und Bastelgeneration weiter vererben, wenn man alle Teile gut zusammen hält....

Our son (5) had a robot themed bday and wanted all robot toys this year. This is the only toy he has continuously played with, every single day. He has built something new every day and it's so cool to see his imagination come up with new ways to put these gears together. I almost didn't get them, but got them on a great sale last month (Early October). It comes with build instructions for 4 robots, but the possibilities are endless. Pieces are durable and have held up to rough toddler play, however some of the links for the tracks can be tough to unlink and my son broke two of them trying to get them apart. I would say even when this is full price, it's a perfect gift for those kiddos who love to build and be creative. It is 1000000% worth the money.
