McCormick Red Food Color, 1 fl oz

McCormicks is a known name for making good quality baking products and spices. This 1oz. bottle of red only liquid food coloring was the perfect amount to make my red velvet cake a vibrant red.

I’d order this for a project I was doing. The project was a hit!

We had looked for red liquid food coloring in several stores, and none of the stores had it. We were happy to find it online. My wife uses it for cookie frostings, and she much prefers the liquid for the frostings than the gel food coloring. Gel was the only thing we found in the stores. McCormick red liquid food coloring works much better for her than any gel she has tried.

Good red coloring. The only problem I had was that it was an open mouth/pour spout at the top. When coloring icing, etc, sometimes I only need a drop or 2 and that is hard to do without a dropper top on it

Being Greek Orthodox, it’s our traditional to dye eggs red over Easter, representing new birth and Jesus’ blood, I guess. Anyway, because some of my family were overseas over Easter, I delayed our Greek Easter festivities till they got back. I didn’t plan it well and so didn’t buy my regular red dye from the Greek bakery and they didn’t have any in stock after the event. Desperate to keep up the tradition and having left it so late, I just ordered this McCormick red dye through Amazon and if I recall, it came the very next day. I was stressing that the color wouldn’t be strong enough and my eggs would come out pink, but, see! They were gorgeous!! I will continue to use this dye every year! So happy with my find.
