Chewtab Advanced Whitening Toothpaste Tablets with Nano Hydroxyapatite (Peppermint)

#1 reason I switched to Chewtab 18 months ago was to stop using toothpaste in plastic tubes. Chewtab comes in a solid aluminum tube. But now I noticed the new tubes were much lighter and slightly smaller. And I could easily bend them by squeezing. If they were plastic, I expect they'd return to their original shape -- this tube remained bent into an oval. And Chewtabs assures me that they're still all aluminum. Some customers are saying their refills come in plastic bags inside a cardboard tube, but that's false. According to Chewtabs' email to me, those bags are plant material, not plastic, and they include a card offering to recycle the bags if you send them to Chewtabs. I've been using Chewtabs for long enough to know that I like them, a lot. I can use every bit of it because there's no plastic toothpaste tube that you can never get all the toothpaste out of. No gobs of toothpaste going down the sink drain and gumming things up (I've seen it, and it isn't pretty), it tastes good enough I have to remember to not eat them like candy, and they contain a substitute for fluoride that's supposed to remineralize your teeth -- how substantiated that is I don't know. Whatever, I feel very good about switching away from plastic tubes. (And I also switched away from plastic toothbrushes!)

The top standout feature for me has been my teeth feeling cleaner for longer. I suffer from migraine headaches and sometimes that means days in bed. Anyone who has issues that keep them immobile or unable/unwilling to do things like brush their teeth as often as they should will know how special this is. I thought at first it was my imagination but after a month I can say they definitely keep my teeth feeling cleaner for more than a day. The whitening effect wasn’t part of my decision process but it has been a nice perk - the change is gradual and natural looking - if you’re looking for some sort of Hollywood special effect white, this isn’t it. When I read the reviews I saw some complaints about foaming but I think it foams just fine. The tablets break up very fast, foam up nicely, and have a pleasant peppermint taste - not overpowering. The taste doesn’t linger long, you could even drink orange juice not too long after brushing and not have the weird flavor, which I will say that it’s a positive for me, but I imagine some people would not like this. I have no complaints about the packaging, I really appreciated their reasoning that glass is recycled less due to breaking! There was some powder when I first opened it, but the can sits on my sink. If I was traveling with this, I think I’d keep it in a bag of its own because the can doesn’t seal very tightly and I imagine the tablets become more powdery in transit. That being said, it’s a tight enough seal because no moisture is getting in from humidity. I’ll be very interested to find out if it’s doing a good job to my dentist’s eyes, so far I just know that I love it!

I have tried all the major tooth tab brands as I have been trying to make my hygiene routine more eco-friendly. I had settled on the Chewtab Chew Brush Smile (comes in aluminum container with blue label) because I liked the peppermint taste, it was easy to crush, foamed well and cleaned my teeth better than all the tooth tab brands (Bite, Hello etc). Unfortunately no refill is available for Chew Brush Smile on Amazon and in fact the manufacturer WelDental told me they dont make refills for this formulation. This is because Chew Brush Smile tabs are an Amazon only product that you cant buy from WelDentals website. Because of this I had to look for another toothtab from WelDental and one that comes with a refill. I chose the Advanced Whitening cause it has a flouride alternative, a whitening agent, has no stevia (I hate stevia). I wasnt crazy about the silica in the formulation but this formula prob has a lot less silica than regular toothpaste. Performance of The Advanced Whitening tabs after 2 weeks of using them . The tabs crush very easily, foam up well and have a nice peppermint flavor. I feel like these get my teeth cleaner than the Chew Brush Smile tooth tabs as my teeth feel smoother when I run my tongue over them after I brush; this smoothness may be due to the silica which is a plus. Im also feeling like I have less plaque buildup between brushings with this toothtab but I may be imagining it. I see no discernible whitening effect but its only been 2 weeks. Further I dont care that much for whitening as its not the primary motivation for buying these. Packaging: love the aluminum jar (which is sturdier but smaller than the Chew Brush Smile aluminum container). Easy to use screw top. Im glad a refill is available for these tabs. Definitely worth the money even if these tabs are more expensive than the Chew Brush Smile tabs (120ct) vs Advanced Whitening ( 60ct) . Even if you havent used toothtabs before these are some of the best toothtabs on the market and for me these are my favorite toothtabs.

Package was delivered 10 mins ago! I immediately opened it and used a tablet to brush my teeth! Very satisfied!

admittedly, first time I am trying toothpaste cubes. The pros is asides from being green on the packaging, the flavor is mild. Not like tube paste that tastes like it was candy, but more like Toms of maine and such where there is a very minimal artificialness to it. Like just the essence of peppermint leaves. My only big issue is that it is like I just picked up a big cube of clay and tried chewing that bad boy like gum and tried spreading it over my teeth with my tongue. Not a very gratifying experience. Like I tripped face first playing tennis on a clay court and found the mint plants on the sidelines with my mouth. I guess once you get used to that..... pre-mixing a cube in a dixie cup helps but still has that certain brush my teeth with clay-dryness to it. My other gripe is that these cube did not stay together very well during shipping I guess. There was quite a bit of powder on the jar bottom and the cubes lower were rounded off and broken more so. I think being an expensive product for what it is, I'll be dipping my wet brush in there when the cubes are gone. Not sure if I'd buy this again.

These are incredibly convenient and mess-free. I like the ingredients. They taste good. I’ll never go back to paste. I wish they were less expensive and that I could buy refills. The container is cute, but I have so many of them and hate throwing them in the landfill.

I have been trying to switch to more renewable/eco-friendly brands and products, and these toothpaste tablets are the perfect intersection between affordable, effective, and easy to use! I pop two in my mouth, they say you only need one but I usually only remember to brush once a day so I use two. I have a sensitive mouth and the mintiness is alike to Altoids at first, then it wanes away as you brush and it not painful or stinging at all. I drink a lot of coffee and teeth staining beverages, as well as smoke daily and noticed some bad yellowing on the edges of my teeth. I've been using these tabs for a week and I've already noticed a significant improvement in how my teeth feel and how white they look! And there's the added bonus of there being little-to-no plastic waste from this product, the tabs are in a recyclable aluminum tin, shipped in cardboard packaging, the refill bags are biodegradable. And the tin is very travel friendly, no bigger than your average pill bottle. So many wins.

I bought these for a recent trip. They work great, but you have to use 3-4 tablets in order to get the same results of regular toothpaste. They do whiten your teeth the first use and your teeth do not feel gritty. They actually work very well where you do not have that yuck feeling on your teeth the next day. I do recommend these tablets, great for traveling. I gave them a 4 stars for all the tablets you have to use.
