The actual bag of product is very small, but the cakes are wonderful. Very flaky and filled with raisins. I used some cream cheese on mine and it was great. I love trying different British baked goods.

This is a British product consisting of four buttery small cakes with a currant/raisin filling. If you are an American, the filling is a lot like that in a Fig Newton, texture wise. The dough around the filling is just fabulously rich in a way that only butter can provide.These are a fantastic treat. I split one with my husband and had to hide the rest from him so that we could “pace ourselves”. These cakes were super fresh and in perfect condition. They were very well wrapped in the box with no breakage. Decadent and very tasty. Very moist yet the cake itself holds together well.

Happened to see these cakes as a "you might like" selection for another purchase. I picked them up out of curiosity, and I'm glad they did. The pastry was flaky and the filling was very tasty. Great as a little afternoon treat with a cup of tea, or as a nighttime snack.

Very small and not worth the price! They taste okay, but are from a packet. They do crumble in the packet, regardless of packing material.

These are very good. I've never tasted currants before, almost like the taste of raisins. The texture of the outside of the cake is like a pie crust, but it breaks softly in half. It has a bit of a creamy taste and moist. Very fresh in appearance and it's a perfect type of cake for breakfast or after dinner for dessert. I'll buy more of them.

I fell in love with Eccles cakes on a trip to England, so I was excited when I saw these on offer. I wasn't expecting that commercially produced pastries would equal bakery-made treats, but these aren't even close. They are quite small and the pastry is flavorless and hard instead of buttery, tender, and flaky, while the filling is sparse, dry, and lacking the texture and rich spicing of the traditional 'cake.' They also cost a good deal more than their quality and quantity justify. Disappointed, I did what I should have done in the first place and looked up a recipe. They are not hard to make, it turns out; the secret to success is the right ingredients, so...

I like eccles cakes now I am older when I was younger I thought they were horrible. My late partner loved these as well. My only gripe with them is they always have an inedible bit of pastry on them. All of them and always. I mean you can eat it if you want of course, but if you want to keep your teeth. Nice with a bit of sliced apple.

Je voulais essayer cette pâtisserie anglaise classique, mais j'ai été déçue par la liste des ingrédients. Ces gateaux sont beaucoup trop industriels. Ils manquent surtout de pur beurre. Je ne sais pas pour Lancashire. Le problème est général. Bon, je sais maintenant à quoi ça ressemble un gâteau Eccles. La prochaine fois je les préparerai moi-même avec de pur beurre et sans les autres ingrédients indésirables et peu appétissants. Je vérifierai la recette.

One of my favourite cakes and a lot of Shops and Supermarkets have stopped selling them. So, it was good to see Morrisons still stocking them at a reasonable price.
