Hogue OverMolded Rubber Grip for Desert Eagle with Finger Grooves, Black - DEP821

Many reviewers say they didn't get both screws. That's because the packaging from the factory isn't the greatest. It is pressed together plastic with gaps big enough for the screws to fall out. When I opened my grip package I felt something hit my toe. I looked around and found one screw on the rug, but could not find the other one. I found the other screw in the bag it was shipped in. I have had the same experience with scope rings. Open the package and the screws go flying. Other than that, these grips are a must have for the Desert Eagle. The finger grooves allow for a better grip on the gun, giving the shooter more confidence in controlling the recoil. Even with the screw problem I'm still giving it five stars, because the grip fits tight and works so well. It also makes the gun look more impressive.

I've always been a fan of Hogue grips, they're great products and this one is not exception. While the install was a bit cumbersome, this is entirely due to the Desert Eagle grip design, making it a bit difficult to remove the original grip. However, once the original grip was removed, the installation of the Hogue grip was simple. I did have an issue with the top of the grip rubbing the slide so I needed to trim a small portion with a razor. That issue aside, the grip is great, I like the feel and additional traction provided by the rubber which the original plastic grip lacked (something I think is very important for a pistol of this size/weight). All in all, I think IWI should use this as the standard grip for the pistol.

This is my 7th in a list of Hogue products, including the Hogue Over-Molded stock for my Ruger M77 MKII. These products are superior for several reasons. Regardless of ambient conditions (including cold) they remain tacky and provide a secure grip, they provide a comfortable fit and feel across a wide range of hand sizes (including my wife's Walther P22), their appearance is appealing, and they have great lasting power (I have them on a S&W Chief Special I bought in 1979). You will not be disappointed in Hogue products, quite the opposite. They have given me great service. This last purchase is for grips on my Desert Eagle Mark XIX that we just took to the range. Due to their design, they are recoil tamers and make you look like a professional (which I am far from). If you try them, you will stay with them.

The scrubber grip fit perfectly. Was not super easy to change. But after a little effort, it looks and feels great. Good item.

Some people have some trouble installing these. What you need is a pan of hot water, a small, soft mallet, and the right size screwdriver. To make the job easier the grips should be put into some pretty hot water to soften them so they will stretch. If it is a summer day and the sun is out, just putting them outside for a while will do the trick. Install one side first making sure the molded in tabs extend over the frame. Make sure by looking into the mag well. Then pull the other side into place by stretching it over the frame. It takes some hand strength. Once the tabs are over the frame, tap the back of the grip with the mallet to move the grip into position. Confirm correct positioning of the tabs by looking into the mag well. When the screws are reinstalled, you may have to push on the rubber to get a clear shot at the tapped hole in the frame. Make sure you can see the internal threads. Start both screws before tightening all the way. Last, make sure the magazine clears the grip tabs and will drop free. That's it, you're done. Once the grips are installed they're great!
