Do I need to used sanding discs with holes in them if I want to use the vaccum feature? I cant find any in 8 inch discs

Yes you do. However, there should be plenty of options for 8" hook-it disc with holes here on amazon or your local auto paint shops.

Does it have a hook-it pad?

Yes hook and loop. Holes if you want to hook it up to a vacuum.

Excellent quality 8-in da

I own a national Detroit and a Dyna braid 8-in da. I bought this one because we have recently switched over to vacuum. This thing is a monster. It's smooth. It takes hardly any vacuum to suck the dust up. There must be something inside that blows it right out through the vacuum hole this is a good quality tool, I've been in The body shop 35 years. I would definitely buy another one of these if something happened to this one.

Loving this sander .

Works amazing just make sure you have the correct air supply and and dry lines . It's takes a lot of air and water bogs it down if not stops it. I work on curved surfaces so I changed the pad due to gouging . Overall couldn't be happier
