Outland 391330901 Universal Clinometer with Compass

So I do wanna say for price your getting a neat little gadget. The pitch and tilt stuff seems to work good. It’s easy to adjust and mount.The one downside is the compass. I read this in other reviews so I knew what to expect. But the compass is not very accurate. From what I understand, the big magnets behind each speaker in your vehicle effect the compass. It does work about 20% of time but otherwise just shows a random direction 😅

Okay here's the deal. I didn't buy this to use when I'm out in my truck. I bought it for my Yard Tractor and I'm customizing it for laughs. I'm adding as many gauges, compasses, clocks as I can fit. lol I was browsing the net & I found this little gem. It's kinda cool & the price was good so hey why not? I've noticed that sometimes the gauges are a bit "sticky" but maybe that's normal? I plan on running a LED into the housing to back light the dials. Over all these are made with a thicker plastic & they feel sturdy. They will work perfectly for their intended use so that's a big plus! I know this product won't work very well on a Yard tractor but hey, you never know! I might be mowing a slope someday...

For the price, it is a neat gadget for a Jeep. I added a light to it, and it's a fun addition to the dash of a Wagoneer. It does not operate super smooth, but some oil helped. The compass (like any compasses) is affected by magnets in the car speakers and other items in the dash. Needs a magnetic shielding of some sort in order for it to work where intended, but the compass does work as long as there is no interference.

Out of the box, I had to shake a few times to get the clinometer to work. Once it was working, I mounted to the dash of my Polaris Ranger ETX. It works ok for my needs because I use my Ranger for work around my land.

Kinda flimsy, not very well made, the compass doesn't really work, great little novelty item that looks cool sitting on the dash but don't count on it for any sort of accurate readings.
