Solid build, great quality
It's more expensive than the average ones but you get the build quality and design. Yes the lever is plastic but it's the point, you want it to break if forced so no one can get into the safe. The entire box is super heavy for the same reason: protection. It also has a hinge that appears to be very easy to defeat but if you look inside you will find the door is completely wedged into the frame when closed. Taking out the hinge will not result in defeating the lock, the door shall remained locked. I do not regret paying for it. Excellent design & quality and it shows.

Just what we needed!!
This safe is just what we needed! It's strong, roomy, easy to operate and we are so glad we went with the manual dial instead of the electronic--we don't have to worry about replacing batteries or the electronics not working since....there aren't any! It's just a basic manual dial safe. It has a very solid feel and locks up tight! When turning the dial, though, you want to remember to just hold the lever up a bit and you will see how easy it turns by doing that. It's a roomy safe and has two inserts-one a tray and the other a bin, to use for keeping items separated. We like that you can easily adjust both the tray and bin to fit your needs. The combination is preset at the factory and is shown on the back cover of the manual. Make sure to make a note of it some place safe where you can easily find it. The manual also shows the serial number for you so that's good to have in case any issues come up. We drilled into, and through, the floor so did not need the concrete bolts. Actually, we used a couple of 7/16" bolts we had and also the matching nuts and cinched them up nice and snug. Make sure when you drill that you drill from the outside of the safe, not inside. The Bosch drill bits went through the metal easily. We then righted the safe and used a brush to clean out the debris. Some of the debris is sharp so watch for it. The door closes nice and snug however the drilling compromises the waterproof feature but it's well off the main floor so that was not an issue but it is something you want to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to anchor the safe. We read the directions before doing anything and they are very clear and easy to follow. All in all, a great safe and we are very happy with it!! A further note: The bottom of the same is very smooth and we were able to slide it along to it's permanent location!! (We are seniors so paid the fee to have it delivered inside our home. It weighs 125 lbs. so it was well worth it to have the delivery men bring it inside)

Amazing Product quality. Read instructions!
I took my time researching bigger Sentrysafes. I’ve had a smaller one for at least 10 yrs and it was time to upgrade. I really like this one. You don’t need a key and nothing electronic. Very roomy and it arrived super fast without any damages. Yes it’s heavy, but I had help. I fount in on Amazon at the lowest price and I’m sticking to this brand. As for Amazon, I just wish they would have left it closer to the garage door so I could just push it in until I could get help. Other than that great delivery. I gave it 4 stars because it was a bit difficult the first time to get the handle to work. But it did say that in the instructions. After a good yank and applying a bit of muscle, it worked and no further issues.

Great product and service!
Item came in perfect condition! Very roomy and well made. I paid for the in home and room of choice unpacking. The two gentleman who came were the best! They brought it in, unpacked it and placed it where it needed to be! They also checked to make sure there was no damage and took all of the packing material with them when they left. The gentleman were very conscientious of my home and were very careful to not cause any damage. I am very pleased with this purchase!

DO NOT BUY!
I bought this safe after my mother passed away to store documents, coins, stamps and a couple antique metal items. Nowhere in the Amazon description, provided by SentrySafe, are there any warnings about what not to store. The images that SentrySafe provides show books, a camera, and what looks like photo albums, none of which are in airtight containers. The first description is on Amazon "...safe for irreplaceable documents, valuables, DVDs, and USBs...". How I read that is that if you can store irreplaceable documents, USBs, and such than it is safe to store a wide range of items. I haven't opened the safe for a month or so and opened it to add some items. The first thing I noticed was a strong odor of mildew. I removed some items, and they were moist, as I checked other items some leather products were covered in mildew and the antique metal items were starting to rust. I then got out the manual and I noticed that it states, "SentrySafe products which offer fire protection have a proprietary insulation that has a high moisture content". The safe did come with three large moisture packets which I left in. Then it continues "DO NOT store delicate items directly in your safe". It then goes on to list jewelry with working parts, watches, stamps, or photos. SentrySafe recommends putting them into an airtight container to protect against moisture. Then it goes on to state, do not store pearls, computer disks, audio-visual cassettes, or photo negatives? What the hack can you store in it then? So, after I received the safe the first thing I did was find the combination and how to open it, simple. I put the manual away, loaded it up and then locked it only to find irreplaceable items being ruined. Yes, I should have read all the warnings in the manual but saw no indication of any "warnings" in the Amazon description on what and what not to store. But come on folks, do you read all the warnings with new products? We know not to put kids in refrigerators or plastic bags, don't use a hair dryer in the bathtub, or knives are sharp. The warnings should have been listed in the Amazon description as well as a warning tag on the safe. I contacted Amazon regarding this issue but since the safe is over a year old they wouldn't do anything. So, I tried calling SentrySafe (mid-day) but was on an indefinite hold pattern and hung up. I'll try again in the morning and wait it out to see what the response will be. Update: I tried calling back the next day but once again I hit a long hold time. I've now contacted them via email and the automated reply states they will call me within 3 days, we shall see? This post will be updated with the response from SentrySafe, stay tuned!

Home Safe
I was thrilled to see my safe delivered in my garage when it arrived. The first thing I noticed was how hard it was going to be to move the safe where I wanted it to be placed; it needed two people and one of those fork lift things that the ups workers use (dont laugh, im not savvy.) After getting it to its destination I opened it up (upside down, but thats my fault) and the vault was already unlocked, but it a closed manner, and had all of the paperwork (lifetime warranty, readme, license, etc) in the box but outside of the safe. The code for the safe comes on a sticker on the back of the readme booklet and it CANNOT BE CHANGED.(The company states that this can be a benefit to the user if you choose to register your safe with the company; they can retrieve your code) It also comes with two keys, the keys do not override the combination lock, only adds another layer of security (which I enjoy). Also, I would like to take some time to explain a CON that most people would complain about that I'd like to bring to justice a little bit.. The hinge for the safe is on the outside of the container as you can see on the picture, however the hinge is very solid and bolted together on both ends, it would take a mass amount of force to break the seal off of the hinges also. But lets say that an intruder DOES break the hinge off; the way the indentions inside of the safe are made, you will not be able to pull the lid off of the same without being able to close the metal bars of the door, which will not happen without the key or code (or both) if it is locked. Safe was also made possible to bolt into the floor and it comes with the bolts and nuts to do it, but I find it unnecessary.. it will be hard enough getting it out the door.. I suggest putting the safe under a desk, shelf, or under some items that can add to the complexion of removing your safe. (Adding 30 pounds of items into your safe will already change the weight to over 120 lbs) PROS: Heavy, very secure, change-able shelf racks, dual security feature, keyring hangers, waterproof, fireproof, worth the price, comes with one absorbent pouch which will last for a while. CONS: Cheap inner shelf (Not for things over 15-20 pounds), password cannot be changed*, may sit unevenly** *The company (Sentry Safe) states that the code cannot be changed and it for YOUR security, just in case you lost your password they can send you your code or key again.. if your like me your questioned reasoning and security behind this, but hear me out.. In order for you to get another copy of your code/keys you have to fill out a form that they send you (originally, with the safe) and you have to fill it out entirely, giving your first/last name, address, and all the usual stuff, and also your unique ID number for your safe.. Well that happens to be located inside your safe and on the sticker with your password on it, so if you wish, you could keep it a secret or even destroy the ID number so not even the company who designed the safe will be able to tell what code/key you need. Hope that clarifies questions. **I also believe I have an uneven floor, but I've read another guy's review stating the same thing.. I just slipped the package of screws they gave me under the corner. VERDICT: I love my safe, Im sure they're are better and more secure beasts, but for the money you CANT beat it, it gets the job done. Hope I've helped, Cheers!

Exactly as expected at a GOOD PRICE
I've been shopping for a fire (security) safe for months now and until now couldn't find one that had relatively good reviews and at a reasonably price. We've all read the other reviews and I agree and confirm most everything. It arrived in perfect condition by UPS. Paint finish is quite good and has a thin oily residue. The interior was clean, and the caulking around plastic interior and steel case was applied well. The shelf is thin and sags readily with any weight (My documents will be on this shelf.) The plastic combo dial works well and has loud clicks. Numbers are easy to see in low light. The key lock is nice for extra security should someone learn your combo. Exterior hinge? Not the best idea. The door inside has a pocket that fits a small frame pistol such as a 380. To in icrease weight: On the bottom of the safe I put about 20 boxes of 40cal ammo. In addition I will keep 5 handguns and some valuables. This adds at least 50lbs+. Now it's VERY difficult to move. I have no illusions that these safes will protect valuables from a determined thief. Safes actually would be one of the first things a thief would want because valuables are normally concentrated there. My safe will be a DECOY and have documents, passports and a few handguns. Other valuables (emergency cash, gold, expensive coins) will be stashed elsewhere inconspicuously out of sight. Hope this helps you. Note: Once the safe is opened it can be locked and unlocked with the key only as long as the combo dial isn't turned. You need to turn the combo dial to relock it completely. Note 2-27-13 (1 year): I use Eva-dry Renewable E-333 Wireless Mini Dehumidifer to keep the safe dry for a year now. The safe must be reasonably well sealed, One of these keeps my save very dry at < 40% relative humudity. I am quite happy with the purchase. Thanks to all of you that reviewed this and other safes. Caja fuerte muy resistente pero como es muy pesada (40 kg) tuvo una abolladura
Es una caja resistente. Al abrirla, tenía una abolladura grande. Pero como no afecta su funcionamiento, decidí quedármela y no hacer el reclamo. Saludos

Great capacity-easy to use-Handle might be easily damaged
Love this safe, easy to use, ideal capacity. The Handle appears potentially vulnerable to easy damage.

Awesome Safe
Love this safe! My wife and I needed a safe place for important documents and whatnot. This safe is exactly that. Super heavy, can bolt down if you dont need water tightness. Not sure how it would work with fire Surprisingly spacious inside, but wouldnt be useful for anything other than small items like jewelry, documents, cash, etc The dial works great and so does the key. I like how you need to have both in order to open the safe. Makes it way more secure. Only downside to me is the plastic handle. But besides that everything else works great. Cant speak on the fire rating because we havent needed it just yet. But based on the thickness of the walls, im gonna guess that your stuff would be pretty safe in case of a fire
