There are several different types of stainless steels. The two main types are austenitic and ferritic, each of which exhibits a different atomic arrangement. Due to this difference, ferritic stainless steels are generally magnetic while austenitic stainless steels usually are not. Our powdered stainless steel is made from recycled stainless steel. Which means it may contain both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel. Because it is blend it can have a mild magnetic attraction.

Our stainless steel powder is ground from recycled stainless steel. We do not have an accurate assessment of what the original stainless steel is composed from.
