The Cat Who Went Underground

I was introduced to this series by a friend who knew I would immediately fall for the main characters of The Cat Who.... series. They are classic mysteries - no graphic violence detailed out, no foul language in every sentence. Just your basic good old fashioned mystery with a pair of delightful Siamese cats and their journalist human. They never fail to uncover a good whodunit and solve it. While the reader will have no problem understanding the relationship of all the characters (this is a continuing series) I would like to recommend you read all of the series - you will see why this series is addictive - especially cat lovers.

Really wonderful ninth book in the Amazing Cat Who Series. In this book Qwilleran and the cats decide to spend the summer at the cabin in Mooseville and while there Qwilleran decides to hire a carpenter to build an addition to the cabin. Unfortunately at the same time there is a run of tragedies that seem to be happening to carpenters in the Mooseville area. Qwilleran reads about one in the paper shortly after his move to Mooseville and hears about two more who have either died or disappeared. After hiring a young man to start his addition he disappears and he has to find another man to complete it. After going for a boat ride and being marooned on a small island Qwilleran returns to the cabin and finds the body of his replacement carpenter in the crawlspace. Further investigation reveals a list of the murdered carpenters written in lipstick and he realizes that he knows the identity of the carpenter killer.

In this book, Qwill decides to take Koko and Yum yum to live in the country. However,it was more than he bargained for! His cabin needed repairs, there was a shortage of carpenter he found himself marrooned, and there was a discovery of a dead body. I enjoyed this book. It's a delightful addition to the series.

Another excellent tale with Koko assisting in solving crimes. This one is back at the cabin with constant needs for things getting fixed ... a nightmare when you are trying to vacation. Still, the dead bodies are even worse, especially the one under the floor ...

The stories are interesting, fun and have character development between people and previous felines

Several years ago, a friend gave to me several of "The Cat Who..." books, which I thoroughly enjoyed. While looking over the list on Amazon, I accidentally purchased "...Went Underground" so put other reading aside to read this one. I still enjoy this author's work, her characters, plots and vivid descriptions of events and locales. I intend to eventually read all twenty-nine, and sadly, there will be no more.

I ran across one of Lillian Jackson Braun's books at the public library. It was such a "nice, easy, read" that I have sought out the entire series and am reading them in order. There is always a murder, but it is never the blood and gore of today's mysteries. A pleasant reading experience, I am always sorry to finish the book, even though the guilty party/parties are revealed.

Good writer, love curling up with the cats and a cup of tea for the next mystery story. Yow! .

I love these books. Fairly short and they bowl along nicely. They finish with answers too and leave you ready for the next book, and ther's plenty more to read.

Another mystery story with a surprise ending, and it kept one guessing all through. As for Ko Ko's super sensitive attitudes - well, that's what it's all about!

I have not read this title yet, but have read others in the series. The first book in ‘the cat who…’ series was written over 50 years ago, it is interesting to read about how things were back then. The ones I have read are easy reads and some have surprising twists. The two cats provide some funny parts (second cat does not appear until the second book of the series), especially if you know cats.

I am collecting the whole series and there are quite a number of different volumes. Whenever I come across one that I don't have, I order it, as long as it doesn't go over my budget. Needless to say, I love cats and enjoy the antics of Koko and Yum Yum.
