Would this hold the weight of a 12 oz beer? Thinking of using this at boat raft offs to hand drinks out and get the empties back

I wouldn’t put more than one full 12 oz can in it. I just checked it out and it will hold one full can. I use it to collect lightweight trash from the local pond and it works very well. It folds up nicely and when fully extended it reaches out well.
