Tired of buying flares!
Decided to buy this to meet the requirement of having "Fresh flares" on board. It is very bright and easy to use. I don't know if other boaters will instantly respond to a flashing white strobe, but I'm sure that the 35+ year collection of "expired" Olin handheld and aerial flares will supplement this product nicely.

Very Bright and a Money Saver. Lasts longer than a flare.
A good substitute for pryrotechnics that expire and accumulate in the boat. Tho’, I carry my expired flares for bear deterrent on wet days when bear spray just becomes hot sauce for the bear.

Works every time.
Works every time. Very assuring that if I ever need it, it has worked every time I've tested it. Keep back up batteries just in case. Very durable as well. I can see this from one side of the lake to another. Really would capture someones attention in event of a needed outage.
