Hardwood Dowel Rod

Exactly as described, this straight, smooth 1" wooden rod dropped easily into the closet rod holders at the ends of my 6' long closet. I immediately added multiple hangars of clothes. I have watched carefully whenever I load more... there's still room... so I'll notice the first sign of bowing under too much weight. If I break it by overloading, well then I'll know its limits when I buy a replacement rod. I've very happy with this inexpensive yet quality product! (Heavy winter coats are stored in a different location near the door.)

I've gone through ten 1X72 hardwood dowels and plan to purchase at least ten more in the near future. Their obvious attraction is low price, but they are also consistent for size, color and grain. They stain reasonably well when correctly conditioned, and look very good with polyurethane and shellac finishes.
