Switches worked fine.
Looking at the back of the switch with the two unused pin slots oriented to the top, the pins on the left are for the power, and the pins on the right are grounds for the pilot light. The upper left pin is line or power in, the lower left pin is line out to the device being controlled by the switch.
The pilot light takes its power from the upper left pin and the upper right pin is an unswitched ground for the pilot light and when grounded the pilot light is always on when power is available at the upper left (line in) pin. The lower right pin, if grounded, turns on the pilot light when the device is switched on. If neither right pin is grounded, the pilot light never comes on and the switch functions as a unlighted single pole switch. You would not connect both right pins to ground.

MS. GOWL-HUMPHREY The switch can operate in either manner. When power is "available" to the switch (your "lit all the time") or when switch is on - power to the accessory (your "only when it is on"). My terminal connection instructions explain how to connect for either desired mode.
