Setting Repair is the second installment in Revere's landmark "Professional Jewellery Repair Series." Just as "Ring Repair" was the first to cover the myriad ways to size and replace ring shanks, this book is the first to illustrate and explain the repair of settings for gemstones in jewellery. Seventeen step-by-step chapters include repairs in sterling silver, karat golds and platinum. With accessible text, informative photographs and helpful illustrations, "Setting Repair" provides a wealth of valuable information to benchworkers and jewellers. As an educator to thousands of students all over the world, Alan Revere is adept as communicating the intricacies of jewellery making and repair with time-honoured authority. Review: Great Book - Again I was not disappointed although this was a considered purchase. Review: Five Stars - Brilliant book by a brilliant Jeweller. Recommend to all new jobbing jewellers and students

Essential for bench jewelers
There are a lot of great techniques in this book. Some of them I already knew, but I'm not new to jewelry repair. There are many techniques however that I didn't know about and this book does a great job of teaching them. I recommend this book along with Alan's other books! If you are on a budget and can only afford one book though, I would start with professional jewelry making. If you already are going down the repair track though, then you probably want this book and Ring Repair first.
