Correct fit
Direct fit replacement part. I purchased for a temperature gauge that did not move even after car had been run . After installation of this part the gauge began to immediately work reading the correct coolant temperature.

Fixed P0118 error on 2002 Hyundai 2.7 liter engine
This resolved an issue which caused the P0118 error on the ODBII diagnostic. Other symptoms included rough idle, stall when in gear, occasional engine revving. I also noted that the electric fan would turn on immediately even with a cold engine. The old sensor was reporting high temperature which caused the ECU to try to compensate. Once I replaced the sensor, all symptoms were resolved and engine operates normally. On the Hyundai engine, remove engine cover, drain the coolant, disconnect both radiator hoses at the engine and bend out of the way. Their are 2 electrical connectors close to the thermostat housing. Remove both connectors by pinching the side and pulling off. The lower connector is for the sensor. use a 19mm deep socket to remove the sensor and replace with the new part. Reconnect connectors and hoses and refill antifreeze. (good time to flush cooling system and replace antifreeze with fresh fluid.) replace engine cover.

Genuine Hyundai part
On the 2012 2.0 L engine find this sensor toward the rear of the engine in the thermostat housing, adjacent to the large coolant hoses. Expect to have coolant run out of the hole upon removal, unless you drain some out of the radiator beforehand. Use a deep socket to remove, this item is already coated with thread sealer. No problems after 4 weeks of driving.

Worked great on 2008 Elantra
No problems, direct replacement. Engine computer reports the temp properly. I replaced the sensor preventively when doing the radiator and bypass hoses together with the thermostat. It is an involving job so better get all new parts in there.
