Marvel MVA-278 Captain America Waffle Maker, Blue

This waffle maker is very beautiful and makes a great gift for Marvel fans. My kids were super excited to give it to their dad for Christmas :-) We used it right away and the waffles came out perfect. Our recipe made exactly 4 waffles. I think the size is just right. Some reviewers referred to the waffles as huge, but I can only figure they are comparing them to frozen toaster waffles. These come out pretty standard size for fresh Belgian waffles-- maybe marginally smaller than the ones you typically get at hotel breakfasts. As per the instructions, we let the waffle maker preheat a few minutes, brushed the bottom with butter, started the batter in the center and spread it to the outer rings. Then brushed the top with butter and gentley closed the lid. Within about 4 minutes or so they were golden and perfect. The kids loved the shield! It would be great if the plates came out for cleaning, but we just let it cool and wiped it down with a damp sponge. The exterior cleaned well also. Time will tell how durable it is, but as far as we know now, it worked great!

I bought this waffle iron for my boyfriend as a birthday gift. He loves Marvel and waffles, so it was a very successful gift. We make waffles from it very often and they always turn out amazing! We have never had a burnt waffle or any issues with sticking - even when we forget to spray the waffle iron down before using it. My one issue is filling it with batter. We haven't been able to perfect the amount of batter to pour and where to pour it. If you pour in the middle, your waffle may not reach the full edges and come out a little smaller. But then if you try pouring batter around the edges and center, we often experience leakage and lots of batter spilling out onto the counter. Otherwise, it makes really amazing and fluffy waffles that are always cooked so well! It's so simple to use and a great, moderately priced gift for any Captain America or Marvel fan!

I didn't expect much from this as it was less than $15 when I bought it. However, this thing is great. I have used it many times and have yet to overcook any waffles. I was also expected some lightweight piece of plastic. I was surprised to find out that it has some weight to it and the build quality is very good.Here are other items I like:* The waffle surface really is no stick, I place a slight oil to the surface but the waffles in general just slide off the surface. I never had a waffle stick to the surface yet.* I love that it comes with a light that tells me when the waffle maker is warmed up, and tells me when the cooking is done. What I do, is when the waffles are cooking I wait for the light to turn on which lets me know the waffles are done. I found that waiting an extra minute after, cooks your waffles perfectly.* The kids love the Captain America shield logo on the waffles. So much so, that my neighbors have actually borrowed the waffle maker because their kids wanted Captain America shield waffles too. LOL!* Easy to clean, really easy to clean! I basically get a damp paper towel and lightly wipe off the grill.One note per past experiences with these type of waffle makers. I would highly suggest to not use any other ingredients like fruits or chocolate chips while cooking the waffles. Cook the waffles plain and then add additional topping after the fact. I say this because I love making blueberry waffles, but cooking the blueberries on my last waffle make actually ruined it. It burnt the berries into the grill and I was unable to clean it off. Since the material can not be removed, it was impossible to clean.

I didn't get a chance to try it out yet as it's a valentines gift for my boyfriend who is obsessed with captain America and waffles, but it looks to be of good quality. I didn't give it 5 stars because of course I have no idea how it works yet but I'll update my review after he tries it out. Also the packaging for it needs to be a little better. Luckily my boyfriend currently doesn't live with me, but if he did, I would have needed to hope that he was asleep or not home when it arrived due to the fact it doesn't come in discrete packaging. I received this as the marvel box, with the label slapped on it. Not just for gift purposes, but I think putting it in a separate box is necessary for the protection of the item. The box had a fairly large split in it and the box kinda ripped at the seams when I opened it to check for any damage to the iron. Luckily no damage was done during handling but there's no doubt a risk when shipped like that. Other than that, it seems to be good quality and so far no other complaints.

We make a lot of waffles, so we were pleasantly surprised that this thing was not only cute, but actually works really well and maybe even better than our other waffle maker! There's no way this could get a bad review unless you just don't know how to cook or used a bad recipe. They turn out like a perfect shield just like the ones in the photos. If you know a captain America fan, buy this. Hubs got a real kick out of it.

I bought this for my grandkids when they stay over. They LOVED it! The waffles look amazing, and they're the perfect depth (of which I was surprised). Just a bit of Pam spray and they fall right out. Clean up was no big deal because the waffle had absorbed all the Pam and nothing was left as residue. So much fun!!!

Does what it should

This thing is awesome! We made waffles for the first time this weekend and it was very easy to use the waffle maker and the end product was exactly as expected: SUPER AWESOME! If you need a waffle makes and have kids, then this will definitely be a good purchase. Seems to be a quality product in terms of how it is built and how it feels--I suspect that Marvel wouldn't license their name to just anyone--but it is important to know that it's a quality product. We made two waffles and they both came out the same, well, except that the second time I didn't add too much batter and there was no overflow. The first time, well, let's just say there was a little clean-up afterwards. It is exactly what we wanted it to be and your kids will be very happy if you buy it... All the best!

Christmas present for my brother who is a big MCU fan. He loved it, Christmas breakfast was waffles! Fairly easy to clean, heats up quickly and a lot of fun to eat!

Bastante fácil de usar, los waffles quedan de buen tamaño y con un diseño bonito. Es genial para cualquier fan de Marvel o Cap America.

A mis hijos les encantan sus waffles del capitán america. Salen muy bien, fácil de hacer y la figura tal cual se muestra, por un lado los cuadritos tradicionales de waffle y por el otro la estrella de capitán america.

El producto tardo un poco en llegar, sin embargo la calidad es excelente! La impresion no se ve de mala calidad, el acabado del producto es muy bueno, funciona sin problemas. Excelente para regalo!
