Review: A Great Manga, but really short - Just in case you don't know, this manga is based off of the Warrior Cat books and follows the origins of a cat who appears in the first series of the Warrior Cat Books. I do enjoy and appreciate the backstory, but there are a few things that you should be aware of, especially if you're purchasing this for a younger audience. 1 - It is very short. When it first arrived, I was shocked to see how thin and little this book was! (Kind of like that cat it's all about funny enough) It will take you no time at all to read this. Honestly I savored every drawing and every piece of dialogue, making sure to make note of everything. So while I would have loved to have more of the story itself, it's still a good book. This is the first of the manga series that I've purchased/read, and I really hope the others are longer. 2 - Cats DO die. Now if you're familiar with the Warrior Cat series itself, then this will come as no surprise to you. The main difference here is instead of READING about it, you see the act of the cats dying before your very eyes. Now, there is no blood that one can see, just maybe a little darkening at the fur at one point, but it's up for debate if it's just fur or not. You do see one cat swiping at another, and the cat's reaction to having just been dealt that fatal blow, but there is no blood. And, yes, if you've read the series to the point where you KNOW when Scourge is introduced and what exactly he does, (spoiler for the manga) yes this part is in the manga, HOWEVER, it does NOT go into detail. You know a murder has happened, but you don't get the details. Which, I gotta be honest, was a relief to me. I can count on one hand the number of times this series has made me uncomfortable with descriptions, (granted I'm in the 5th series now) and this was the first moment in the story that made me uncomfortable, so that they left out the gore from this manga, I am very grateful. Honestly the fact that cats die in this manga wasn't something that was too big of a deal for me personally, (particularly since there's no blood or gore and this sort of thing happens in the book) but thought it would be fair to warn those who might be thinking of buying this as a gift for younger readers that this is something that happens in the manga. The brevity of the manga itself aside, I really did enjoy this manga. Honestly it helped get me through a stressful time of waiting, and I love the drawings inside. One unique thing about the Warrior Cat books is that everyone has their own interpretations of the various cats, and while some of the cannon of the cats in this book was a little off-putting, it makes me want to draw them even more. All-in-all this is a great little book, and I only wish it was longer! For $6-7 it is short, but a fun addition if you like the Warrior Cat series! Hope this was able to help you! Review: Amazing But Some Stuff To Know.. - I want to start off by saying that this book is amazing and this stuff didn't change my idea of it, but I still want to let you guys know. First off, it IS black and white, so if you want a full-colored Warriors graphic novel, I strongly reccomend Graystripe's Adventure, A Thief in ThunderClan, a Shadow in RiverClan, Winds of Change, etc. Next I want to say that it is a very short read, and my brother, who loves Scourge, read it in about fifteen minutes. Other than those, though, it is an amazing book and I strongly reccomend it if you can look past these details.

The amazing story of the feared BloodClan leader
This book is amazing. I used to hate Scourge and think he was a bit evil; but (this is my opinion) I realized that he isn't, but a cat trying to survive in a way some may dislike. This is the story of the fearsome Scourge, leader of BloodClan. You get to read a manga in the point of view of Scourge, telling the story how he became from a bullied-kitten to the strong leader of rogues. Tiny was bullied by his brother and sister as a kit, but when he leaves his twoleg nest trying to survive, he is nearly killed by Tigerstar (tigerpaw at the time) and left with a grudge. He becomes strong and learns to live for blood as a stray, but his want for revenge against Tigerstar never fades. I also really like his bonds with the street rogues, and how he protects them and cares for them, as they are the only cats who gave him a chance. Heck, he even feeds his bullying siblings (so he's not bad.) This is amazing and also sad and definitely not for people that want a cute animal story. I love Scourge now, and I love this manga. Way to go, Erin! Way to go, manga! Way to go, Scourge!

Pretty good
I love the writing, and the art style. I really can't complement the writing enough, I love it. While Scourge is an unappreciative brat, his emotions do come off in a believable way. So even if you dislike, and hopefully not agree with his actions, you still feel like what he is going through is real. It did take me a few read of this to like Scourge's character a bit more, (once I realized he was more or less a Hitler allegory I found him more interesting), but no matter how you look at it, he's a bad guy who over reacted to next to nothing. (Still a really good comic, don't get me wrong. I liked it the first time I read it) Kids see this cute kitten character, connect to him because he's being picked on, and so forgive the fact that he's a murderer. We need more characters who are bullied who handle things in productive ways. Characters who are healthy for kids to being connected with and to look up to. Rather then more and more characters who are picked on and resort to murder. Do I believe kids are going to go out and kill others? No. Do I believe it's unhealthy for them to connect with murders? Yes. They might not be going out and killing others, but they will continue to let out their anger in unproductive ways, because that's all their "role models" do. Maybe all of that had nothing to do with this comic, but I have dealt with people on more occasions then I'd like to admit who saw Scourge as a role model.

Greatest book of all time
This book is amazing just like all the others it's just that this one is very good because it takes a very loved well known character and gives them a great back story I mean scourge is one of the greatest villains and with this book it makes since why he is so rebellious against tiger star and just why he is the cat he is not only that I can actually respect scourge because he has such an amazing back story that makes since it really shows why he is such an great cat and kinda shows that being small does not mean you are any weaker in fact maybe even stronger its just yes I think that the erins did a wonderful job

Amazing but...
I would really reit though it's short. Also I think it is a good book to show children that being young and weak does notmean that you are not strong in any ways, but remember to not overdo it, turning into the dark side. But I think it's wierd because when Scourge left home, he met the clan catsfrom ThunderClan and then Tigerstar, a apprentice at first, Tigerpaw attacked him. Then in the later(or last) part of the story, Tigerstar went to Scourge and asked him for help. I mean like, duh, doesn't Scourge recognise Tigerpaw, the cat who attacked him!? Even if he does not know Tigerstar's name, can't he notice that Tigerstar's fur colour familiar???

sneaky
it’s a good, quick read, definetely covers scourges backstory and is indeed ‘the rise of scourge’. i wasn’t expecting this until a week later, but it managed to sneak its way into the same package as tallstars revenge (shipped a week earlier) so i didn’t notice it until pointed out.

Amazing book!
I really liked this book, but it was quite short, black and white and at the end it missed a fairly large chunk of the story. Still, that doesn't knock off any points! I love the Warriors series and Scroug is one of my favourite characters! To the veyry small (if nonexistent) amount of people reading this, have a wonderful day\night!

This is so far my fave warriors book!
The book is an amazing and short read, out of all the warrior cat books this one has to be my faveourite. The artwork is amazing and i love the story line and there is always something around the corner that you would never expect! Scourge had a rough start but the book ended with him getting revenge. This book came in perfect condition, I have read it about 3 times now, still loving it. I recommend this book if your looking for a great warriors read! 😄
