Holds the weight.
Versatile, and strong. Holds my SM7B in a isolator up perfectly with no sag or need for readjusting. This is a set it and forget it type, not a easy swivel type.

Low Quality Internal Components - Don't Waste Your Money
I had this Mic Boom Stand for 2 years during which I would occasionally use it. Then a cheap metal component that held the tension cable together broke causing the stand to become completely limp and useless. The outside looks like it is solidly built, but on the inside there are some very cheap components. You're only as good as your weakest link. For something I paid $144 for ($153 adjusted for inflation), you wouldn't expect it to have such a cheap component that is so vital to the functionality of the thing. Stability is fall down flat on it's face and possibly break your expensive equipment on the way down once the internal tension cable disconnects. Functionality is non-existent once the cheap metal part in it snaps into pieces. It's mountability was always a little tenuous. The outside is way over built and heavy for something that is so weak on the inside. Overall, very disappointed. Nothing like shoddy quality to ruin an otherwise decent, if overpriced product.

Truly solid boom stand - but a bit short
I've worked through several boom stands and this one finally holds position even when extended with a heavier mic (eg: Yeti). I could go on and on with details, but they all add up to "boom stand -- it just works" and, on that description alone it is Recommended. That said it does have two deficiencies -- one very minor and one a good bit larger depending on your needs. The minor one is the typical 'add unneeded differentiation feature and screw it up' so many manufacturers do nowadays. This one is the 'on air' light. It works, but its smallish, dimmish, and a bit hokey. If you need an on-air light, you need a bigger, brighter one than this with more obvious controls (so you're not forgetting which position you left it in - you know, cause the light is so small you won't notice its on/off). But you are buying this because its a solid stand, not for the on-air light so most can ignore this issue. The one problem I have is the base is too short. It barely raises the first elbow above standard monitor height -- and note that many of you with larger monitors already raised a few inches off your desktop need something taller than 'standard' to clear. I had to scavenge the base from my previous boom to get this arm high enough. So pay attention to that 18" back riser and make sure its enough for you. The base I mounted it on has a 10" extension and THAT makes this a really flexible boom stand indeed! (hint hint Gator). So a 5-star stand (with a sad little light) that I'm rating 4 stars because it was not fully usable (to me, at least) until I modified it to reach over my desktop monitor. So definitely recommended for quality and, if you don't need the reach, highly recommended.

BEAST For The Price! This Boom Arm Is PERFECT!
This was probably the best purchase I've made for my streaming setup. It holds my Shure SM7B perfectly. It is great. Explanation point. High quality and definitely recommend. Get the most expensive one they have, as the quality is far better than the other models. There is so much adjustability on this. It's heavy duty. And I've been using it for almost a year with zero issues. My other boom arm broke in only a few short months. I will have a video on this product page very soon as I'm doing a full video review. I highly recommend this. Do not think twice. It also has an LED that can be changed from blue to red or purple! Perfect for streamers or podcasts. I also use it to produce music as well.

Beautiful Stand with a Short Lifespan
Though I bought this back in 2022, I still felt I needed to post a review because I think a $140 product should last longer than it did. Afterall, I have mic stands from the 90's that cost much less and are still going strong today. I bought this 4000 series boom arm after seeing several prominent podcasters using it (or similar models). I was drawn to the sleek aesthetic, built-in cable management, and thick tubular arms. It has the appearance of a strong, well-designed mic stand. With a max-weight recommendation of 4.4lbs, I thought it'd be great for my Rode NTK, which weighs around 2lbs. From day one, I noticed is that I had to really tighten down the screws to keep the arm from drooping down. The aluminum tubes are great, but the joints are made of a hard plastic that eventually snapped at both the base and the elbow, causing my mic to fall and rendering the stand useless. I'm really surprised that they would skimp on the quality of the joints. This seems to be a design flaw that will probably affect anyone mounting a moderately heavy microphone. The caps that cover the screws at the joints fell off after a few months as well. It's worth noting that I rarely repositioned the arm during the time I owned it, so this wasn't a case of constant adjustments or heavy wear and tear. I'm not trying to bash the Company either, it just seems like a bad engineering decision to use plastic at key stress points. If they re-engineer those connection points with aluminum or steel, I'd be tempted to revisit the product in the future.

A Nice Surprise
A search during Prime Day showed this product as a result. The price was amazing so I jumped on the deal. When the package arrived a few days later I suddenly realized it was a refurb. Suprise! My heart sank. Before opening the box I went back to the site to check. Sure enough. That fact wasn't in the item description, but was instead shown above the add to cart button. Not exactly cool in my book. Feeling more than a little frustrated I opened the box. That's when the 2nd suprise, and nicer, surprise happened. The boom stand was in perfect condition. No scratches, no missing parts, like new, and ready to use. Gator makes quality gear. So new or used it gets 5-stars from me.

Ok but for the price I was expecting better
Was never very happy with this thing, it worked ok for about 2 years and then just snapped in half today, crashing my 400 dollar mic into my desk.

Excellent mic stand
This I can wholeheartedly say is better than the psa1+ the build quality is miles better and it handles heavy mics like a champ. The psa1+ is better if you move your mic constantly but this sucker is much nicer if you only move it a few times a day because it is more solid.

Terrible
Just buy the Elgato arm, cheaper and better then this expensive mess, you can barely move the arm how you like and for £132 its not even close to a budget arm!!!

More Money, but not worth it
I got this about 2 months ago. I was thinking “let’s buy the more expensive one, because it’ll probably be the last one I’ll buy”. I was wrong. I tried setting it up. However, whenever I try to adjust the boom arm how I want, it just decides to go down by itself without me doing anything. It’s extremely difficult to adjust. Yea you get a cool light, but honestly it’s not worth it. I wish I could return it but it’s past the 30day money back, so I’ll use it for another couple of months and probably buy a cheap one. I thought I would get better use out of it, but lesson learned. Don’t buy it just because it’s more expensive. On the plus side, it stays mounted to the desk, so that’s a plus.

Broke after 3 months
Is crooked and plastic broke on the joint after 3 months of use, it was EXTREMLEY stiff and hard to work into place. Hard to tighten, not the best.
