Great for certain applications
The door gym is easy to set up and use. It is not for young guys building big muscles but it is perfect for me, a 61 year old man just trying to avoid any additional droop. The system does appear to need to be set up so that it pulls against the door frame, which normally means pulling into a hallway or other room. But really, what do you expect when using a standard door in your home. I have been using it for just over a month. I exercise everyday and use only a few basic movements. Some of the movements on the instructions are for people that need to be at the gym, not those doing some straining before they eat some prunes and put their teeth in the cleansing glass for the night. For my use it is very good. I can try to pull as much weight as I dare, and it has more to give than I can pull. It is sturdy and should last for quite a while. There are lots of plastic parts but again, this is not for the 25 year old jock. It is great for a toning or conditioning workout. It works really well for me; simple, good price, seems to be good quality.

NO REGRETS!!!....LUV IT LUV IT LUV IT
I was skeptical at first because I was kind of put off by others negative reviews and plus I have bought so many exercise machines before and ended up returning them but weider x factor is so far the best exercise product I've ever bought. When I first started using it OMG I was in alot of pain (Good Pain) the next day and alot of sweat during the workout. What I love most about it is the resistance and how every workout feels like its in control whether you're doing it right or wrong. I'm happy I finnaly found something so simple that gives me a full body workout without leaving the house. If it gets worn out I'm definately buying another.

Not sized for normal door width.
Simple Quick fix if you run into the same problem(door not thick enough). 1. From exercise side of door Prop corner brackets as far back as possible and as close to the door itself as possible so it will fit between door and frame. 2. Close door from opposite side of the exercise side. 3. Cut cardboard and fold(to needed width, took mine 3 layers of cardboard so I folded accordingly) to prop X-factor brackets and prevent extra movement. (I just did the top ones. Can also do bottom brackets if wanted.) 4. Enjoy your new home gym. With a hollow door it doesn't overwork the door at all. The frame of the door is where the X-factor gets the majority of its leverage from. Quality equipment, smooth resistance movements. Excellent for focusing on certain muscles. I've always had a problem working out my chest muscles without overworking my arms and the resistant bands easily fix that problem. Haven't tried the extras yet, I've been using the poster exercises without any need of the DVDs and Nutrition chart so far. Quick and Easy (mountain climber clips) to switch handles and ankle braces. If you're looking for different exercises this is a good way of finding it. I'm focusing on basketball movements and I can find many exercises to work the muscles I need by replicating the moves that need improvement. Excellent quality product that needs a size adjustment. Would have given a 5 out of 5 if it came fit to door.

Amazing first impression.
I work full time and live in a tiny apartment, this was tailor made for someone like me who doesnt have the time or money for a gym membership or a huge collection of weights. It got here quickly, set up was easy and quick, and the door opens and closes as easily as it did before, a perfect fit. I just set it up and tested out about 10 exercises really quick and i can already feel it in my arms and legs so i can tell this is going to be a very good investment. I seriously doubt this thing will make you look like the people in the commercial (who knows maybe im wrong) but i would recommend this to anyone who wants to get/stay in shape without having to deal with the idiots who frequent gyms. Final point, a gym membership could be anywhere from 40-70 dollars or more every month. The xfactor will cost you about 70 dollars one time, and you have it for life in the convenience of your own home taking up very little space. Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Great little door gym
I love this gym. The only thing I found wrong is one of the cords came twisted so I have to unscrew it and fix it but it works well

Bands not same strength
There are some good aspects of this exercise aparatus: The metal brackets and pulleys are very solid. They feel like real gym equipment. The bands are good too. The huge problem is that the bands on the right and left side don't provide the same resistance. I felt the difference immediately and so I did two tests. --------------------------------- Test #1: I stood on a scale and weighed myself. The scale read 258.5 lbs. Then I moved the scale to the right side of the door and hooked up to the 60 lb band at the bottom right and stood on the scale with the handle as far down as my arms normally hang. The scale read 265. Then I moved the scale to the left side of the door and hooked up to the 60 lb band at the bottom left and stood on the scale with the handle as far down as my arms normally hang. The scale read 271. So you can see the band on the right was providing 6.5 lbs of resistance and the band on the left was providing 12.5 lbs of resistance. So, the band that went to the bottom left was providing TWICE the resistance as the band that went to the bottom right. --------------------------------- Test #2: So, then I performed another test and tried hanging 15 lb weights off the bands to see if they would hang the same distance. The band that went to the upper right (ie bottom left) hung down half way under the weight of the dumbell. The band that went to the upper left (ie bottom right) hung down all the way to the floor and felt like it could go a little farther. So, basically this test confirmed the weighing test. The bands do not provide the same resistance. --------------------------------- Conclusion: You could do different exercises using only one band at a time. But if you think you're going to do any exercises with two hands you will not be able to get an even workout, which drastically reduces the usefulness of this product. I wish I could rate different parts of this product differently. I would rate the design and part quality very high. The anchors are strong and I thought the pulleys were good quality too. The bands themselves provided good resistance throughout the pull and felt like they would last - BUT because the bands on the left and right don't provide the same resistance the product is far less useful than it could be. I have posted a picture of the weight experiment in the customer images by the product picture with the weights on! --------------------------------- I tried to contact Weider customer service to explain the issue to them and give them a chance to fix the situation for me so that I could take down this horrible review. However, their website requires a model and serial number to even send them a message. I tried all the numbers I could find on the equipment/boxes. None of them worked(I don't think there even was a serial number on the equipment) and the website would not submit a comment if they weren't valid. So, too bad for Weider, looks like this review is permanent! Returning this product and would advise everyone against purchasing!

Great workout! Great Value! Smooth and strong resistance bands!
Just completed my first workout and I love it! I almost bought one of those big $500 home gyms with 300lbs of weights that takes up half the room! I'm so glad I didn't. This fits directly on any standard door and takes up zero space! Very smooth but strong resistance bands. I definitely felt the workout in my muscles. I'll update this review if things change but for now 5 stars!

X factor
We purchased the Xfactor from Amazon, best price out there. It works! My family of 4 have been training on it for 5 weeks. We feel stronger, and see results. It is easy to assemble on the door, easy to use and convenient, you don't have to join a fancy gym. You can adjust the weights, work your upper body as well as your lower body. I would recommend this product.

Decent product
I've been pleasantly surprised with this little unit. The convenience of having the system handy is great, it provides enough resistance for the beginner, or someone who wants to get back in shape, etc. I use it on an interior bedroom door and can bookend my days with some exercise.

It does the job
I like it a lot, it's easy to install and super useful for the smaller muscle groups. My only dislike is the lack of a fourth strap with a heavier resistance. It's too easy to max it with the stronger muscle groups like legs and back. But overall still worth every penny for those who don't like going to an actual gym. Edit: I added a second set and now that thing is pretty awesome!!
