Beautiful color, great over textured pieces
I've been taking community college ceramics classes for about 2 years now but still have much to learn (or try to remember!) about ceramics in general and glazing in particular. This was my first time using a celadon glaze, and I have to say I'm a big fan! I've only tried it on a few test pieces so far, but I love the color and gloss. This glaze seems very stable and hasn't run at all. It looks very pretty over texture. The photo shows a test cup with 3 coats of Rainforest celadon brushed on. I haven't tried layering it with any other glazes yet. My only complaint is that my classmates all love the color so much that they've borrowed it liberally, and I'm going to have to get more sooner than planned!

Good Product
This Celadon glaze breaks over texture so I like the way it looks on dark clay. The results give definite handmade vibes (if the application isn't perfectly even) so if that's what you're going for this is a great option. There aren't any pottery supplies shops within an hour of my home so I have to order my glazes online. Blick also sells glazes on their website, and I usually order from there if my order is large enough and I don't need it in a hurry. But, sometimes the quick shipping wins out like it did this time. It showed up at my doorstep sealed and in good condition.

One of my top 5 favorites!
I use this on so many of my pottery pieces because it is just magic. Sometimes it looks like falling snow, and other times, it looks like beautiful oil spots. It’s also gorgeous as a semi-opaque glaze on its own as shown in the white vase photo. That vase had 3 coats over b mix with specks. Gorgeous! The other photo of the sponge holder had 2x mayco’s riptide and then 2x snow over b mix clay. Cone 5.

Easy to use
Easy to use with instructions on bottle. Amaco is always a quality glaze. Came out great on latest project. Good value for the money. My project only needed two coats to come out perfect with nice shine but not too shiny.

My go to clear glaze.
This is my go to clear glaze. The quality is great- consistent & stable. I've never had any issues with color bleeding, bubbles or discoloration with this glaze. Two coats usually does the trick & applies easily with a brush.

Good value for the money
I've had experience with Celedons in the studio. They produce a transparent type glaze with nice depth of color. I am using this one one a deeply stamped bowl I have made and anticipate the glaze firing deeper color within the stamped area and sheer in the smooth areas. Can't wait! Will update this review with a pic once completed.

They arrived safely (always a worry with liquids!). Amaco celadon glazes are so beautiful and work well with light coloured clay especially. I find I have to be careful with the application. There are good amaco tutorials on you tube on how to apply. When fired as directed they produce beautiful pieces.
