I bought this HCS cymbal set back in 2016 and I’m honestly surprised at how well it has held up over the years. It’s been used mostly for practice and casual playing, and it’s still going strong. For a beginner set, the sound is decent and consistent enough to learn proper technique without worrying about damaging expensive cymbals. These cymbals aren’t meant to compete with high-end professional cymbals, but they do exactly what they’re supposed to do for beginners and practice sessions. Durability has been solid for the price, and I haven’t had any major issues with cracking or warping. cymbals are good in size and the appearance was very solid. it weights a bit but hey they are brass hehe. Just recived my Meinl 4pc HCS cymbal set and I gotta say these are pretty sweet. Set them up yesterday and started jamming they sound awesome and the price is spot on. I've been using the other guys for a while now and decided to switch it up this time, Meinl I will not be going back to the others thanks for a great product at a reasonable price.

I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw the price but that's what I get for being a skeptic because this cymbal set is fantastic!!! The cymbals sound amazing, they are strong but not too thick so I get the crisp bright sound that I personally like in cymbals, the set comes with a free pair of sticks and 3 free online lessons, I mean.....what more do you want and for only $99.00!!! I've never played Meinl brand cymbals before and like most people, I'm on a budget and anyone who is as passionate about music as I am, knows that it's a very expensive passion to have, especially being a drummer, so for me to receive everything that comes in the package, for only $99.00 and to have the sound that they have, is unbeatable! I looked at some cymbal box sets from other companies and nobody even comes close to Meinl's price and nobody else had as much product in one package deal either. I'm ready to start buying some more Meinl cymbals to complete my drum kit! 40 year player, 10 year hiatus, wife wanted a set, we both win. Hi hats are really clean and short, better than average, good bite . Crash is a standard rock crash with good harmonics and depth. The "free" 10" splash is crisp and fits well tonally with the others. This collection is really incredible for the price. I needed a set of cymbals for a practice set/jam set. When I saw these for under a hundred bucks, I thought I would try them because the reviews were great. There is a reason for this. These cymbals sound great. They are matched, so they sound well together. I can't stress how good these sound. These do not feel cheap like some others I have seen. Nice and solid with deep grooves and a bright finish. If your reading this, then you will eventually come back and buy these. You're welcome.

I bought a really beat up kit so my friend and I could start learning drums. After a while we got tired of the worn out hi-hats sounding like garbage cans clashing together so I tried looking online for affordable options. I ended up coming across this set that had a lot more than what I was looking for but for a price I really didn't wanna pass up considering that it wasn't just the hi-hats that were beat up. I got this as a temporary solution until we could afford "better" equipment. When we set these up and started playing with them the quality in sound was huge. Of course considering that the old cymbals were beat up there'd be a difference for sure but i didn't expect the quality for these to be so crisp and nice. For a beginner it feels like a lot of variety to work with when using and setting these up to our preference. No regrets in this purchase and i can't recommend it enough for beginners who are trying to piece things together on their own.

Ok, Ive dealt with economy (Sheet bronze) cymbal sets before, and found some pretty acceptable ones (From Paiste mainly), but these Meinls are just "ok". The Hi hats are the best from the set, and are actually pretty good, may even be used for smaller low volume gigs. Really like these. The carsh however y really mediocre, bordering on bad. The spash is just ok, which is kind of a bummer, as it really doesnt take much to make a good sounding splash cymbal, unlike a larger crash or ride. This is a good student / starter set, but definitely NOT for anything but the simplest gigs.

Better than expected. Bought one of these sets for my Daughter's new drum set as add ons. I liked them so much that I ordered a second set for my son's new drum set as well. Came sooner than expected. Very fast shipping. Range of sound is good for their new sets. Im new to the drums but the videos I watched all said that adding symbols should be the first upgrade to any drum set. The Ludwig Set I ordered only came with a 10" Ride/Crash and a 8" Hihat set. I think these will be an excellent addition to these sets. The Free set of sticks are nice quality sticks. Came with a free 10" Splash symbal and a coupon for a free Ching Ring. I'm satisified with my purchase.
