Soultrane White Vinyl

This vinyl must have escaped quality control at the pressing plant. The vinyl was not trimmed correctly (or completely) and the record had several pockets of non fill resulting in bad distortion so I had to return it. Music was good but the vinyl was defective.

This bargain collection of early 'straight ahead' Coltrane (1957/58) finds the great man in exuberantly creative form, showing exactly why Miles Davis thought that he was a must-have player for his Prestige /'Kind of Blue' era band. He had still to find the experimental edge that would mark him out from most of his peers but there is no doubt there is plenty of great playing going, as tracks like 'Baikai' and 'Violets For Your Furs' readily demonstrate.The first disc features 'Soultrane', an acknowledged classic and the second, Coltrane-'First Trane', likewise is a cracking release made with more or less the same line up. As a result both sets sit very comfortably alongside each other. I always worry with budget sets that there will be compromises with sound quality- not the case here, in fact these discs sound just great. Packaging isn't bad if the liner notes are a tad on the skimpy side it's no real loss, considering the brilliant price of the collection. If you are jazz fan on a limited budget or just back filling your collection, this set is really should be on your to buy list.

Il disco è arrivato la prima volta deformato(come un altro vinile preso sempre su Amazon assieme a questo). Lo rimando indietro chiedendo la sostituzione, ma il secondo disco arriva sempre deformato e la custodia interna di carta era palesemente sporca come se fosse stato appoggiato a terra.Anche di questo chiedo il rimborso e lo restituisco. Al momento dell'acquisto l'ho pagato circa 18 euro ora si trova a 25!Morale della favola?Non credo che acquisterò più nessun vinile da Amazon.Per il resto tutto ok, come sempre Amazon è ottima nella gestione dei resi.

un masterpiece del jazz. assolutamente da avere! ascoltarlo in auto, al lavoro, durante una cena, in ogni occasione non è mai fuori luogo.

安価だったが二枚組で、音質もまあまあ。大好きなgood bate が挿入されていて欲しかった一枚(^^♪彼の最期の年に、日本でジャズコン・ツアーがあり、彼の目の前で聴いたのを思い出す。

知り合いに鉄板で定番と言われましたが、私は全然知らず、勧められるまま購入しました。買ってよかったと思わせてくれる聴き応え十分の一枚です♪

リマスタリングがルディ・ヴァン・ゲルダーである。国内盤を持っていたが買いなおした。がっかりである。曲のフェードアウトがあまりにも早く、音楽の余韻が全然感じられない。国内盤を購入することをお奨めする。

テナーの音は渋く乾いている。ピアノは角のとれた丸い音。ジャズらしい分厚い音で録られている。ハードなコルトレーンとソフトなガーランドのマッチングは、すこぶる良好。オリジナルの音を知らないが、58年にヴァンゲルダースタジオで録音されている。素性がいいのでリマスター効果は小さいと思われるが、この完成度で2000円を切るリーズナブルな価格は衝撃的。
