A sonic whirlwind that kicks you in the balls, punches you in the mouth, and throws you down in front of a steamroller, the Dwarves “Blood, Guts and Pussy” is a relentless barrage of catchy vocals, searing guitar work, and lewd, raunchy lyrics, all delivered at a breakneck pace. Born from the same belligerent mold that gave us such nihilistic bands as the the Stooges...the New York Dolls...the Dead Boys...Sub Pop bands like Green River and Mudhoney...the Dwarves take the listener through the life of a junkie, scoring smack, shooting up, being homeless, having meaningless, risky sex, etc. Been listening to punk rock since the mid-80’s and I have always felt that the finest examples of hardcore punk rock, particularly its’ aggression, were (in no particular order): the Misfits “Earth A.D/Wolfsblood.” (1983), Poison Idea’s “Kings of Punk” (1986), Minor Threat’s “Filler” and “In My Eyes” EP’s (1981), Agnostic Front’s “Cause for Alarm” (1986), D.R.I.’s “Dealing With It” (1985). The Dwarves’ “Blood, Guts and Pussy” deserves to be in that discussion.

Best Dwarves album! I have the original but wanted one that I could play and not worry about the value.

Fait parmi des albums de Dwarves à avoir. Voici onze titres saignants. J'ai choisi la version vinyl pour sa pochette.

Effettivamente quest'album ci mette un attimo a "scappar via". Appena 13 minuti e tutto quello che bisogna suonare è stato suonato e cantato. Punk velocissimo, pochi fronzoli e liriche scarne. Probabilmente il costo è eccessivo (15€ per il vinile, praticamente più di un euro a minuto), ma sono "punk" ed è anche giusto così. La copertina poi è davvero sconvolgente, un pugno in faccia a tutto: perbenismo, religioni e politically correct. Da ascoltare almeno una volta (anche perché basta poco). (nota per chi acquista il vinile: anche se edito da Sub Pop, in quest'album non è presente il "solito" coupon per scaricare i file audio)

Sì, il disco non arriva neanche ad un quarto d'ora, ma se valutate la musica dalla quantità avete un serio problema con la qualità. Questo dei Dwarves è tra i dischi hard core più fichi che ci siano, anche se i vostri amici punk probabilmente neanche l'hanno mai sentito nominare.
