It's exactly as described.
I used it on my 2004 road King classic. With a little imagination I think you can pretty much use it on any motorcycle. I wanted to try to put one together myself so I went to home Depot to buy the parts. This one was actually cheaper and better than what I could have put together. It does exactly what it's supposed to do measure the distance between the pivot bolt and the rear axle. It arrived sooner than they said that it was going to. And mine arrived in a box with plenty of packing so it won't get bent.

Simple, Accurate, and Worth Having in the Toolbox
I picked up the Motion Pro Rear Wheel Alignment Tool to make chain adjustments more precise, and overall I’m glad I did. It’s a simple tool, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to do—helps you visually confirm rear wheel alignment instead of just relying on the swingarm marks, which aren’t always perfectly accurate. The build quality is solid. It’s lightweight but feels durable, and it clamps onto the rear sprocket securely. Once installed, you can clearly see whether your wheel is straight in relation to the chain. It definitely gives more confidence that everything is lined up correctly, especially after adjusting chain tension. That said, it does take a little patience to use correctly. You have to make sure it’s seated properly on the sprocket and that the chain is reasonably clean for the most accurate reading. It’s not complicated, but it’s not completely “foolproof” either. A small learning curve is why I’m giving it four stars instead of five. Overall, if you do your own maintenance and want more precise rear wheel alignment without expensive shop tools, this is a smart addition to your garage. Simple, effective, and saves guesswork.

Easier than using a tape
I put off getting this tool for years, but finally caved and picked one up. I always just used a tape measure when aligning my Softail Custom rear wheel, which works ok. This works better because it is easier to get an accurate measurement. You can definitely make one of these using a welding rod or a metal coat hanger by using the instructions right in the service manual to bend it. I prefer professionally made tools though, and don't mind paying a small price for them. The adjustable brass cone fits snuggly in the rear axle. You have to just eyeball the other end of the tool on your swing arm pivot bolt though, as there is no centering marker on it. You can measure and scribe your own mark, but I find it accurate enough just to eyeball it. On my particular bike the right side exhaust bracket gets in the way of the swingarm bolt so you cannot hold the tool directly in line with it. You have to hold both ends on a 45° angle. Bottom line...I'm glad to finally own one of these.

I'm finally getting more precise
I've adjusted the rear wheel alignment on my Harleys using very imprecise methods over the past 60+ years. Tape measure. Bent coat hanger. So in my very old age I am trying to be more exacting in my alignments so I purchased this tool. Expensive but worth it. You can make very precise readings and measurements using this thing. May not make a lot of difference but changing a rear belt is non-trivial now that chain drives have gone away. I'm for anything that will extend the life of a belt.

Ok Alignment Tool, but Poor Packaging..
The alignment tool works as advertised. Its pricey for what it is. Three stars due to the poor packaging method of placing the wire tool in a thin cardboard sleeve. The product arrived bent in several places but i was able to straighten it out enough to be useable.

The part came on time ,was as described and a very needed tool. Don't take chances with pencil and string lol this part is spot on.

I first used calipers on the adjustment bolts to align rear wheel/belt tension. Bolts are not quite the same length on ends of threads. This tool seems perfect. Easy align wheel. Fool proof. Worth the cost for piece of mind.

Excellent quality all metal product. Simple and straightforward to use. Made alignment of my Sportster custom 2007, rear wheel an easy and very accurate task to undertake. Definitely worth the money. The seller of this was a company named Dirt N Dunes . The 1st dispatched product still has not arrived. When the seller was contacted they were super professional with their customer service. Asked for the courier of our choice with no fuss or extra cost. And the 2nd dispatched item arrived within a couple of days. Friendly and professional company. Well done Dirt N Dunes top man.
