KetoSens Bluetooth Meter

If you have been on a low-carb diet for some time, you may not know that the little sticks you urinate on don't give you accurate readings after a while. The sticks can be a great way to start tracking your Ketones but after a few months your body becomes adapted and the urine is no longer the best way to measure. This device includes a simple app ( play store), a few starter strips and a very good lancet that is very gentle plus a case. This device only measures ketones and you would need a separate device to measure glucose. There are other brands that can measure both K&G but they still require separate strips for each and they tend to be more expensive. The ketone strips for this unit are under a dollar ( about .80 at the time of this review ) and my glucose strips are very cheap, about .20 ea. Knowing you in Ketosis is very important if you are to loose weight, and if your like me you want to track every metric you can.

Back on keto and never really did it with accurate knowledge of where in ketosis I was (if at all). This has been really helpful to help me understand my swings and when I may need to be just a bit more careful or select a different food. Plus, it’s a good way to keep me going with Keto when I can see a stat to show me where I’m at (peeing on a strip was always so unreliable and hard to decipher!). Definitely recommend after 2 months of use.

***READ IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE CONNECTING BLUETOOTH!*** - iPhone user here - the directions for connecting Bluetooth are confusing and almost contradictory. Once the app is downloaded on your phone, to connect to Bluetooth select "more" in the bottom right-hand corner of app. Then, select accessories - choose the one that says KetoSens BT- (see pic I included in this review) As long as your Bluetooth in your phone's settings is on AND the monitor shows the Bluetooth setup screen (press and hold down right arrow for 3 seconds on monitor to show Bluetooth setup screen) - this should work. I hope this helps. As for my review - I like the ease of use with the actual device. It's fast and pretty easy to setup, aside from the confusing directions for Bluetooth connection. The refills for this are pretty expensive in my opinion. Almost $1 each. Keep that in mind if you plan on testing multiple times per day. ***One other thing - Not a huge fan of the app. Once you're successfully connected to Bluetooth, you'll need to open the app each time you do a test in order for it to log your results, so keep that in mind. Also, lots of personal health data is collected in the terms and conditions of the app. I don't personally take issue with this but I know a lot of other people would be uncomfortable with it - so it's worth mentioning. The app needs a major update in my opinion, but it's not horrible. For the price difference of BT vs no BT feature, it's literally only $3 more. And you don't have to use the BT feature if you don't want to.

Bought this for my diabetic dog. Close to the one my vet uses to check for ketones.

My KetoSens works when it wants. It does test for Ketones and tells me where I'm at, but the connectivity or bluetooth ability is otherworldly frustrating. I have had to reset it and start all over with every use. Not at all pleased with the purchase. None of the other bluetooth devices do the same for me. KetoSens what is the major malfunction. Oh! and I do not like it that it yells at me "0.00 Ketones" when it comes on, even when the reading states 1.5. So Stupid.

I ordered the product and received it VERY quickly. I have been using keto strips and had a hard time comparing the color chart. Is it beige or light pink? This monitor gives you very accurate, and easy to read results in moments. I already prick my finger to test my glucose so the lancet hold no fear for me. I thought the price was reasonable, as was the cost per strip. I have had some issues with paring the monitor to my phone, but that’s probably just me. I will contact customer service this week if I cannot figure it out.

Ive tried and cant pair with my cell phone and cant get it to read my test. What do I need to put a bucket of blood on this thing for it to work. I used level 5 to get most blood, had to stick myself 8 times, still not enough for it to read. Completely useless and cant get live help either. Dont buy product its waste of money. Instructions out of order, pictures but no words with explanations, book of instructions wont stay open so have to binder clip it so you can read it.
