Why does the glass door not completely cover the opening?

Based on our experience, the machine creates a LOT of stream which needs a sufficient outlet to escape, hence the gap between the door and the opening.

With a full case how many people can it feed?

At least 15 people. It’s a lot. This is hard to clean. Works very well.

What popcorn packets (brand) do you all prefer?

Popcorn made in a kettle (like the Great Northern popcorn maker) tastes the best. We experimented with 3 different popcorn oils and popcorn seeds, and the pre-package Great Northern brand was the preferred brand for us. I love popcorn, and I am picky about the taste. The 8oz packet (I prefer this size) has just enough seeds in the kit to open the kettle lid, allowing the popcorn to fall out. My son uses the 4oz, but you need to stay with the kettle to dump the batch; otherwise, it will burn. Melt the pre-package oil by running it under hot water (this will allow the oil to flow quickly into the kettle). Cut the whole packet open, fold it, and dump the entire kit at once into the kettle. If you do not like a lot of salt, cut open the oil and seed portion and make a small cut on the salt section of the packet (this will help control how much salt goes into the kettle). Enjoy!
