Handy silicone sealer for quick fixes
Being someone who often tackles small car repairs, i found this Permatex silicone sealant to be quite helpful. it works well on cracked or leaking windshield edges when i'm on the go. the flowable formula makes application easy and smooth. i appreciate having a reliable, durable option in my toolbox for those unexpected windshield situations. it’s a solid choice for anyone who needs a quick, dependable fix while traveling or in the garage.

No more rear window leak.
2019-'23 read sliding windows are notorious for leaking...and that's a nogo because there is a lot of electronics on the back wall of cab that are vulnerable to damage from water intrusion. My Ram 1500 is a 2020 model. The dealership replaced the rear window once under warranty, and exactly 7 days after the replacement we got a hard rain and the leak was back. So, upon the advice of several in the forum I belong to, I bought a case of this permatex flowable silicone. I sealed the crap out of the rear window, third brake light (also known to leak), and the sharkfin antenna on the roof. I'm proud to say that after two high pressure carwashes and tow fairly hard rains, I am leak free thanks to this product. I do have one minor complaint, and that being, on the label it says it dries clear. It does not. It's more of a slightly milky white. It's not that noticeable if you're not looking for it, and quite honestly, I'd rather see a slight hint of sealant rather than have a leaky window. I don't blame the dealership of the installers because they are forced to abide my manufacturer installation procedure. I blame Ram/Stellantis for a faulty install procedure. It's almost like that want it to leak, so the customer will return for more repairs. I'm glad I decided to go with this silicone sealant, because as it should be, I can now leave my truck outside in the rain, or run the truck through a carwash, and not experience leakage. I have several extra tubes...but any homeowners can find a use for some silicone, so it won't go to waste. Good product.

Good but oversold on capabilities
From the package: "Specially formulated wicking action silicone. Flows into hidden and hard-to-reach leaks around glass..." I did not find that it really wicked at all. To me, it is just a more runny RTV silicone sealant. Because is thinner, it will flow somewhat into nooks better than you can squeeze normal silicone sealant yourself. This, overall, seems to contribute to a better seal, so it might be the best product for the application, but it is not anywhere as great as the description might lead you to believe. Also, because it is runny, it is better used on small gaps and where the application is horizontal. If at an angle or vertical, it will tend to run out and drip. You might be better off with two light applications based on this. Based on its performance to claims, I'd give it a bit under 4 stars. One problem that this product (and most Permatex products) has is that it comes with a cut-off nozzle to apply the sealant. After you are done, there is no way to seal up the tube. Unfortunately, this makes it more of a one-time-use product and not so good if you want/need to do multiple applications because you still have a leak and/or the product leaked/ran out. I sealed the tip up extremely well with electrical tape, and it barely lasted overnight. (I had to cut some more of the tube off). Some other products (GE, I think) have a replaceable, screw cap over a pointed nozzle which would be much better. This probably knocks it down to 3 stars since it is not that cheap and not widely available. Finally, it claims to be odor-free. While it is vastly better than the pungent smell of acetic acid, it is not odor-free, but not really bad at all. Very-low odor would be more accurate, although smell is lesser important to me, I round back up to 4 stars. See my customer image of some landscape lights I was trying to seal from irrigation spray (which keeps corroding/ruining them). You can see that it flows better into crevices, but that it also has a tendency to run out. Hope you find my review useful.

Handy little tube for window leaks
Easy fix for my shop’s drafty front door glass. I run a small print store and cold air was sneaking in along the top edge of the window by the counter. Customers sit right there to sign invoices, so that breeze was annoying. I cleaned the gap, ran a small bead of this Permatex, and let it sit overnight. Next morning it was clear and flexible, and the whistle from the wind was gone. I like that the tip is skinny so i can follow the trim line without making a mess. Used the leftover on a small chip around my truck’s windshield and that sealed up fine too. Reallly glad it stays clear.

Very handy little glass sealer
Velcro-ing kids into car seats is my daily cardio, so I noticed right away when a tiny leak started at the top of our van windshield. I bought this so water would stop dripping down right onto the diaper bag. The nozzle is skinny so I could run a neat line along the crack without taping anything off. It flows into the gap, then sets up nicely. I did the whole thing during nap time and it was dry enough by school pickup. Last week it poured and that corner stayed totally dry, which made me reallly glad I didn’t have to drag both kids to a glass shop.

Adhesive
Didn't really work for my application. Maybe suited for others.

Tiny tube that actually stops leaks
This little tube works. I run a gym and bought it for a nagging drip at the top corner of the front door glass. Techs wanted a few hundred to “reseal everything.” I cleaned the channel, squeezed this into the tiny gap, let it flow for a minute, then parked the door open so it could cure. Next storm, zero water on the rubber floor. That alone made me glad. The nozzle is thin so I can run a clean bead without making a mess. It dries clear so members dont notice anything. Ill keep a tube in the office drawer for the next mystery drip.
