Adds natural color with no allergic response
The organic base is part of a kit sold by the manufacturer. A while back I was a user of a standard beard dye on the market, you know, exclusively for males. After using the commercial product for years, I began to develop horrible allergic reactions ( weeping sores) and had to discontinue. Enter Grizzly, I have been a happy user for two years now and very satisfied. Initially, I had to "break-in" my beard to the product using the organic base- although each person is different-not everyone needs it ( The manufacturer instructions ask to try without it and use if you need assistance for "breaking in" your tough beard). The organic base helps provide a specific tone range and probably helps the absorbency of the beard and a small amount is given with the standard kit. Recently I found myself using the organic base consistently so I ordered a package of it separately. Give these folks a try. Your beard will look natural and you won't get "burned" by harsh chemicals. Comes in powdered form appears to be all natural vegetable and mineral pigment dyes. Instructions are clear and you can contact them for additional support ( I don't usually - still its nice to know the option is there)

This stuff is all-natural and works perfectly!!! Totally safe!!!!
Here is my review. Short, simple, and honest. I was using JFM for roughly 5-6 years and began experiencing exactly what has probably brought you here to this product, ie, facial rash and irritation. A nurse friend of mine warned me of recent cancer warnings linked to JFM. So, onward and forward...I have used Grizzly Dye three times to date. My first time was this base followed by the black dye. I have a black beard that is pretty damn grey as I have just turned 40. I first washed my face with natural face wash. Applied the base for roughly 25 minutes then washed off with the same natural face wash. I then applied the dye for about the same amount of time as the base. Washed off with same natural face wash. Now, here is the thing to remember. Don't judge this product after that last wash off. This stuff is true to its instructions. It really does "set" overnight. Your beard may be slightly off colored as it states...but look in the mirror every hour or so and watch it change!! This completely covers up my greys!! A great, all natural tool for my anti-aging toolbox!! Try this and I promise you will never look back!!

Works well if you like green and magenta
We found this product to be a great alternative to just for men. It did not blister my husband’s face and provided a good color and made is beard soft It does come with some cons though. My husband had to color his beard every 4 days, it completely lost its luster and the beard oils seemed to rid his beard of color. If he did not color as often the dark part of his beard turned magenta and gray had hints of green so it was kinda looking a little like Christmas. Unfortunately he had to stop using it. We did find that Just For Men creates a beard shampoo that does a great job (for now) coupled with using Clairol natural with no ammonia once a month does the trick.

I'm glad I gave this product a shot!
After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about trying this and dying my beard green, but I'm glad I gave this a shot. Unlike some of the folks that used this product, I followed the instructions to the letter and also made sure to use the base first. I applied the base and let it sit the full 30 min. The gray hairs in my beard DID have a slight hint of green. I then generously applied the beard dye and let that sit also for the full 30 min. The outcome looked extremely natural, not fake like Just for Men. It didn't eliminate all of my gray, but it did eliminate a large amount of it. I'm going to try it again in a few days and I have a feeling it will look even better after another application. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a natural product and a natural look.

Works as a dark blond to light brown beard die for gray/white bears
Works as is. 30 minutes and done. Best color the next day. Ok the first day but slightly darker the next day. Was going to use brown over the top of this, but liked this color as is. Had terrible reactions to other dyes. This one just works and is gentle on the skin!

Went from 50% Gray Coverage to about 90%!
I've used Grizzly Mountain Beard Dye for nearly a year now. It's awesome, looks natural, and doesn't burn my face off like the over-the-counter brands do (I'm HIGHLY allergic). I recently went back to a stubble beard. I noticed the dye didn't stick to my short gray beard hairs like it did when they were longer. I decided to give this a whirl. All I can say is...IT WORKS! I still have a few grays here and there (natural) but this stuff REALLY helped the regular dye stick to my short gray hairs (I use the dark brown color). It takes twice as long for me to do the dye job now (and more often - with stubble it's about every 2-3 days) but the result is totally worth it. I feel too young to look that old and this product helps me achieve perfect results without looking "fake." I'm writing this after just one application. I am anticipating the next round will be even better.

I'll be using a better beard dye — this stuff just didn't work well for me
Honestly, it didn't work all that well for me. On one hand I didn't have the permanent green beard experience that others had with this product (and yeah, it does turn your beard green for a bit, but it does oxidize and eventually fade out), but on the other it didn't work all that well for me. Full disclosure: I've got mild alopecia and when my facial hair comes back it comes back white. This product did not do a very good job of dying my beard AND it didn't last as long as others have said. But everyone's unique, so you can't just take what someone says and truth for everyone's experience. But this is mine, it didn't work well — it worked a tiny bit, but not enough to make any sort of real difference.

No allergies
To get the best results, you’ll need to use the product a few times. For the best results, apply it once and then reapply a few days later. I have a black thick beard.

Helps to use the organic base occasionally to give your beard a fuller darker look. This is a great product when used in conjunction with the Grizzly Mountan Beard dye. I couldn't be happier. It lasts a long time and gives a more natural look than most dyes O bought in the past. I will only use Grizzly Mountain products now. Excellent product that I highly recommend.

My favorite natural beard dye - Covers your beard in a natural manner. Even if you keep it long, do not expect a 100% homogenic look if you have white hair, rather different shades of brown. It looks overall way more natural as you age.

I have personally found this product quite painful to use (figuratively not literally) compared with jfm. But i personally find jfm very painful to use (literally not figuratively) So this one is better. The only way it works for me and my very coarse beard: - Do it on a Friday night only. - Have a hot shower, shampoo beard with a basic shampoo, but NO CONDITIONERS OR OILS OR 2 in 1 MOISTURISING SHAMPOOS ETC. You can also use or a few drops of dish soap like Dawn. #note: You are basically trying to strip away the oils from your beard so it can soak up as much dye as possible, so if you know you have oily hair make sure you shampoo well or go the Dawn route. - Gently pat dry beard #note don't dry it too much it goes on better damp - Mix GM base (i use 1 tablespoon of GM base for my 1 inch beard) with HOT water to form a ketchup consistency. You don't want it too thin or it will just run off, and too thick is too hard to apply and will dry out too quickly. #note i find hot water gets a much quicker/darker result than cold water. If you live in a hard water area use distilled/demineralized water as minerals can interfere with the process. - Smoosh it liberally into beard with fingers so every hair is wet with product, start with the greyest bits first so those bits have the longest contact time. - Stick a couple of cotton balls up nose to mask the smell (kinda smells like tobacco/grass, not a bad smell but it's a bit overpowering for me) - Wait 30 minutes then have another hot shower, rinse beard well - repeat the entire process above, except using your preferred GM dye instead of the base. - wait 48 hours for it to fully develop This process gets me a very dark dye, if you want something less dark then use cold water instead of warm, or don't leave the dye on for the full 30 minutes (but still do the base 30m).
