Are the covers safe to use with a heat gun for remolding plastics that I want to clamp down?

The covers are plastic so I would not get them hot. They slip off easily so you could take them off

Can I buy replacement plastic covers? I did not know they were removable and lost three when I was using the clips when bagging leaves ?

I would suggest you contact the seller/manufacturer through Amazon they are typically quick to respond. If you are unable to get replacements I have seen others use standard duct tape cut to size as an adequate substitute.
