These filters work! I have two of these machines in the 1600sf house in Central Oklahoma with a few cats and they catch the crap in the air. But you have to change the filters once every 60 days. I remove the filter over the trash can outside the house cause of the dust, and throw it away. Then I rinse the grill cover and the inside filter too. I take that filter with the tiny holes in it and use the kitchen sink sprayer and very hot water and slowly run it thru, holding it close so not to wet the meowers whoa re always trying to watch the action. I wipe the exterior off with a damp cloth and then set it all aside for at least 36 hours to make sure it is dry as can be. The filters do their job at a GREAT VALUE. But you have to use them and clean the honeycomb filter often.

I've only had this about a week. I have model HFD320. This review only applies to this model. Overall I am happy with this air cleaner and am considering getting a second for the downstairs. My one complaint is the controls on top are so well lit that I can easily see in the bedroom. That hasn't disrupted my sleep, but I wish I could turn them lower. Although the directions specify not to put a blanket over it (who would do that?), it is possible to cut out a black piece of paper to fit over the top at night and secure it with a small piece of tape. This would not obstruct air flow. The top is just controls and indicators, but I haven't bothered. The device itself is silent, but you can hear the air rushing through, but IMO that is not the device though it could be some fan sound. It isn't enough to disturb my sleep when in sleep mode. When oscillating there is no mechanical noise that I can detect. Effectiveness seems good, and turns on a hour or so before bedtime, the air is clearly better than air in the hall. The controls barely require a touch to make changes. I have not had it long enough to see the filter changing light.

The function of these filters is spot on and is genuine product. It is not so sheer that it makes you ask how will this even come close to grabbing hair and other things. It's thick enough and it fits nicely under the tabs and you get 2 per order. Depending on how you use your air purifier this could last you as long as 6 months. What I don't like is having to cut the filter down to size. In the package you get 2 templates which makes the cutting process easy however for the size I need there is NO template. Hold on to your 1st original filter and cut 1 of the replacement filters to size. Then use the templates anyway you can to mark how best to cut future filters. I noted the width and use the smaller template for that. Cut both out after you get used to cutting your filter and have them ready to go because the second your filter needs changing and your machine goes off you want 1 ready to replace. Don't forget to wash or vacuum the internal permanent filter as well. On the flip side if Honeywell keeps the cost of 2 replacement foam filters down by having us cut them ourselves I'll deal with it. Better than them selling 1 or 2 cut to size and charging double any day!!! The filters work great.

I purchased this as a replacement for the factory filter. After reading reviews on the generic ones, I decided to go with an original and it was worth it. I have a Genius 4, and the filter fit perfectly. The original filter always had a plastic odor, but this replacement one does not. That was a huge plus. Having a new one the odor reduction quality has also gone up. After a few poor food preparations (getting cooking oil a bit too hot) it was a good test and the filer did its job well. Overall I can say the extra cost for an original seems worth it, for both the quality and the fit. Past experience has shown they last quite a long time, so two-pack was a good investment.
