We purchased this Teton Sleeping Bag Liner for my son to use during wildland fire assignments, where sleeping bags can go days or even weeks without being washed. It has been a great addition to his gear. The fabric is a lightweight cotton that feels soft and comfortable against the skin. One of the biggest advantages is that it helps keep the sleeping bag cleaner during extended trips, and it's much easier to wash a liner than an entire sleeping bag. The liner also adds versatility. It can serve as a light extra layer on cooler nights or be used by itself when temperatures are warmer. We found it breathable and comfortable without feeling heavy or restrictive. We purchased the XL size, and it fits nicely inside the regular-size Teton sleeping bag we bought. There was still plenty of room to move around, and it didn't bunch up inside the bag. Overall, this is a simple but very useful piece of gear for camping, travel, hunting, firefighting assignments, or anyone spending multiple nights away from home. It adds comfort, helps with cleanliness, and gives you another layer option when temperatures change. For years I have gone camping with sleeping bags and sometimes accompanying liners that promise to keep you warm at 20 deg F or 0 deg F, only to find I am still cold and miserable at 40 deg F. And if my sleep is ruined, then so is my trip. I finally decided to do some research and came across the Deer Hunter sleeping bags offered by Teton Sports which carry a -35 deg F survival rating, and which I have tested myself down to -20 deg F. In addition, I wanted one or two liners both for my future trip to Alaska and also as an aid, if I want to sleep with the Deer Hunter more open and just use a liner. (say, on an early fall night here in Central CA, when the temps only drop to 55 deg F) I decided to order one synthetic liner from Teton and also this model, their cotton bag liner. Typically, a synthetic liner will give you an extra 10 deg F or so, of warmth. So that a bag with a comfort rating of 40 deg F and a survival rating of 15 deg F can now be used in comfort on a 30 deg F night or for survival on a 5 deg F night. A cotton liner is just a tad bit warmer and instead of 10 deg F more protection, offers typically about 12 to 15 deg F more warmth. And that is exactly what I found with this liner. I have now used this Teton cotton liner on three occasions here in California during the summer and early fall and found it is great to pair with my Deer Hunter bag when I do not want the top of the bag to cover me. (I always sleep with a lightweight cot that keeps me about eight inches off the ground and with a closed cell foam sleeping pad on top of the cot and under my bag) This liner hits that sweet spot on evenings when the temps drop to about 65 to 55 deg F and you want something light. And I am sure this will give me an extra layer of warmth if I get up to Alaska. I also like the construction of the liner, the drawstring and the included carrying bag. The cotton used seems to be a good weave and so far, I have not had problems with it holding in sweat. When you combine those positives with a reasonable price of $29, then in my book you have a five star item. Happy customer so far.

this "sheet set" is really just a thin cotton sleeping bag by it's self. it does not zip open on the side as one would expect. the sheet is sewn up both sides to about 4/5ths of its length and then has little Velcro tabs that close up the sides. i can see where this might be a issue trying to get into or out of the bag when inside a small tent or without a lot of light. but i won't know for sure until i really use it this winter. the bottom of the sheet is about 6 inches longer than the top of the sheet. since its mid August and kinda warm at night, i used it as a stand alone sleeping bag for a night. it was not too bad. i toss around a lot, i don't like to be confined or restricted and this was bearable. i do wish there was an opening at the bottom to let a foot hang out if i wanted. i think it felt fine to sleep in against my skin. it should be easy to make a few alterations to it to make it easy to get into, especially when i use inside a sleeping bag this winter. i am going to open one side up and sew a zipper in. i will probably also remove the Velcro tabs because they were a little scratchy. i might also add tabs to the bottom the bag to lock it into place inside my sleeping bag, as i think this will probably want to out of the bag with me in the middle of the night if i need to get up. all and all, not bad for the few bucks it cost. time will tell just how much warmer it makes my sleeping bag.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I agree with the other reviewers that it is overpriced for what you get. Yes, it's essentially a bed sheet folded over and stitched together at the bottom and halfway up each side. At the same time, it IS warmer than what a bed sheet would be. The packaging claims it adds about 10*F to your bag, and from my experience (sleeping in 35*F temperatures) that sounds about right. (Also, two of my dogs immediately climbed into the sleeping bag and then into the liner, and they are amazingly good at finding the warmest spots, so I think the claims of warmth are correct.) So if you are using this simply to keep grime out of your bag, then something homemade would serve just fine, but if you are seeking warmth, then this might be a reasonable purchase, depending how much wear you can get out of it. That said, for warmth, I would instead recommend that you consider buying two Zippo Hand Warmer s, which are extremely warm, and throwing them into the feet of your bag instead. They will make your bag toasty warm in no time, and even when you include the size of the lighter fuel, they pack up to be about the same size as this bag liner. Other points: - The liner IS machine washable (not 'hand wash only', as indicated in some older comments). - I personally had no trouble getting into or out of the liner.

A little scratchy, but not unbrarable. Interestingly hard to get into, sheet won't separate, but overall comfortable. 100% cotton. A bit heavy for backpacking, but worth it's weight.

Wonderful sleeping bag liner. Opens up a bit at the top to make it easier to get in/out/adjust. Not sure why so many complain about getting into these, just put it at your feet and pull it up to get in. The whole thing easily packs back into the bag it comes with, just fold the sheet four times on the narrow side and roll it up length-wise. Entire thing packs down to about the size of a Dinty Moore Beef Stew can. (so slightly wider than a normal soup can but just as tall). I'm 6'2", 200lbs and the 87x36 size is plenty big.

We bought the largest liner Teton made and it’s still too small. First of all it’s too small for the queen size sleeping bag they make. We love the sleeping bag! It’s perfect in every way so we figured this liner would be as well. Second It’s extremely claustrophobic. There are no zippers or Velcro. I decided to seam rip it on my side and restitch but I honestly need it to open all the way down. I ended up out of it and my husband ended up wrapped up in it. The idea is amazing but the details and size are not good. I wish I would have immediately returned it. If you got the queen size sleeping bag I recommend just 2 basic top flat queen sheets, especially if you like to sleep with a foot out or your claustrophobic.

Material felt great after I had washed, Product as described. Real test will be when my son returns after using it for 7 weeks in India. Great value

When recieved initially happy enough. Washed it in the gentle cycle before first use and when I went to fold it up noticed there was a hole in it. Obviously can't return it now I've washed it so don't think it will last long - very disappointed.

Buenísimo. nosotros lo usamos para envolver la colchoneta doble y esta a su vez ponerla dentro de un sleeping bag doble, así no estábamos directamente sobre la tela plástica de la colchoneta, y un lado del sleeping bag daba otra capa extra de separación al suelo. totalmente vale la pena, no pesa ni ocupa espacio (lo empacamos dentro del sleepingbag). *Consideración a tomar en cuenta... es de algodón, por lo que no es tan recomendable para lugares muy húmedos.

I picked up this liner after one was suggested in a few blogs for travelling to India. At first it seemed like I wouldn't need it, but I ended up using it every night. It added some comfort being able to sleep in my own sheet for two weeks, took up minimal space in my backpack, and was roomy enough that I didn't feel like I was sleeping in a sack.
