All parts were accounted for. It was easy to install. Instructions are in English but it is jargon based. It is an intuitive process so trust your instincts if you don’t understand what it is saying. The box is heavy and the material seemed high quality and is staying in place. The manufacturer recommends putting a sealant in between the iron rods. I don’t have any, used flex seal clear. Works good. Will update with any problems.

I’m really happy with this ECOTRIC lift assist system. I installed it on my utility trailer, and it instantly made raising and lowering the tailgate way easier and safer. No more straining or wrestling with a heavy ramp — it practically floats up and down now. The setup took a little time (measure twice, drill once!), but once installed, it’s rock solid. The assist works smoothly and makes a huge difference, especially if you’re dealing with a tall or heavy gate. I’ve got mine on a 6-foot ramp with about 18" side rails, and it fits great. You can tell it’s built to last — sturdy hardware, solid feel, and handles my steel gate without breaking a sweat. The 400 lb capacity gives me peace of mind too. If you're loading mowers, ATVs, or heavy gear on the regular, this is a must-have upgrade. I should’ve bought one years ago!

Have read that cable comes loose. I crimped the cable ties down tighter and so far have had no problem. Helps pulling down and putting ramp up. Works well

Looked at this item for over a year before I made the purchase, my loss!! What a difference lifting my over 100 pound ramp now with these installed. Myself being in the 60's I had gotten to the point of not using my 12' custom car haler I built because of having to lift the ramp with it being so heavy. The installation of these springs are very easy. Took me around 30 minutes to do the whole install. With the added S hooks to use while finding the sweet spot to mount the cables to the ramp it didn't take long to find the place the cables needed to be installed to. Now this heavy ramp can be lowered so easy it doesn't seem real after all the years of dealing with all the weight. I can now lower and lift the gate with one hand, yes one hand! Guys do yourself a favor and save your back. These work.

I chose to go a less expensive product and, simple as this tailgate assist is, I regret my decision. I followed the instructions and found that I needed my cable anchor point on my tailgate near the limit of the cable an spring length. I was able to get the passengers side mounted, then moved to the drivers side. before I could get the drivers side connected, the passenger side cable released at the tailgate bolt. Finished the install on the drivers side and went to the hardware store to get some cable clamps. I disassembled the passenger side, removed the factory cable clamp and put two cable clamps on just to make sure it wouldn't fail again. I put everything back together and was pulling on the cable to get the bolt to the hole in the tailgate and the cable clamp failed on the spring end! Drivers side was still working fine. Disassembled everything again and used one cable clamp on the spring as I was afraid two might drag when raising and lowering the tailgate. Fished everything back through the channel, reassembled everything and attached the bolt to the tailgate. So far it is holding (in the raised position). The unit does help with raising and lowering the ramp, but still requires some effort (not going to raise or lower with two fingers like the name brand claims). If the cable clamps would have held, I would have given it four stars. After putting holes in my trailer, I don't want to return the item and buy a different brand that may not match up the holes already drilled.

I bought this set to help me lift up the very heavy steel loading ramp / tailgate on my 7’ x 14’ side by side trailer. I’m a retired 70 year old engineer so I honestly thought I could improve on their mounting and cable routing. You can’t improve on what Gorilla invented and everyone else has copied. Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation and follow the instructions to the letter. There are a lot of You Tube videos on the installation if you have problems or just can’t figure it out. Once I installed them according to the instructions, they work perfectly. The ramp is easy to lift now and I can actually stop it in any position going up or down. I recommend this easy lift kit as long as you follow the included (but very basic) instructions.

Bought it in December 21, Installed it in March 22 and both cables crimps failed in June. The funniest part was I was swapping the end of the cable on the first one that failed so I could use a bolt on cable clamp on the end that bolts to the gate and the other side failed. I don't use this trailer that much so maybe lowered and raised 20 times? I see they are no longer available and now I can see why. I recommend going with Gorilla Lift or at buy a cable crimp tool to ensure they are crimped well before installation. I'm still going to swap ends on both cables as I doubt I will get warranty replacement cables, but luckily I have a hydraulic press to squeeze the hell out of the two remaining ferrules.
