Wheels may be slightly out of gauge causing a derailment.
Good, strong running locomotive, easily pulls 40+ cars on my layout. Needed to adjust the front pilot wheels to meet the NMRA standard gauge spec. and I needed to reattached one of the front marker lights to the smokebox. Still, a great addition to my fleet of N scale locomotives.

This locomotive is perfect in every way. And I'm glad to have one on my roster

Very bad quality control, be awhare...
Over the last year, I purchased 3 of these locomotives. I've had to return two of the 3, first return was because front wheel axle melted into a right turn because something in the tender shorted ans with metal wheels and plastic axle axle melted. 2nd returned loco rand for about 20 minute's and then stopped, tried to run it again, and front end of locomotive tried to jump up seems like a problem with the front wheels of the front 8 wheel truck, something must have came disconnected. I will not buy any more Bachmann products, at least not engines, I will stick with Kato from now on. A little more expensive, but I have never had to return any of their Locomotives.
