No scent and works fabulous!
I received this emulsifying wax this morning, and may I say, very quick shipping, two days with prime. I usually use organic beeswax for my homemade lotions, as I try to keep things as natural as possible, but I do like the results with emulsifying wax much better, when it comes to certain homemade products. I find that beeswax works much better with lip balms, salves, and ointments. Emulsifying wax gives me better results in my homemade lotions, creams and butters. I used these beads in a homemade whipped body cream, as soon as my daughter went down for her afternoon nap! They melted down easily and the wax was easy to work with as well. I'm glad I was able to find a natural wax, that is also free of GMO ingredients. You don't need much, so I purchased the small bag to try this brand. I really like the quality of this emulsifying wax, my cream came out great! I also like the fact that the wax beads come in a resealable bag. After opening I then store the bag in a ziploc freezer bag, and keep it in my wooden bakers rack cabinet with other supplies. It's cool, dry and dark in there, which I find is best for storing emulsifying wax. I definitely recommend this brand of emulsifying wax to anyone looking for high quality emulsifying beads for their homemade products. Oh and it has no scent!!! Awesome!!!

good for diy lotion
Since I don't use preservatives in my face lotion, I need to make a very small batch to last a few days, and this works great. Recipe: I use water, oil, and this wax at 8-4-1 ratio by volume. (I use distilled water and olive oil). I put oil and wax in one little jar, and the water in another. I put both jars in a pot of cold water (double boiler idea), heat it up, and when the oily mix is melted, I take both jars out, let them cool a little, and then pour the jar water in the oily stuff. Stir well, and stir every few minutes for 10 minutes, and you'll have a great cream/lotion when it's FULLY cool!

Works pretty good
I bought this to start making my own lotions. I'm still fairly new and I'm learning a lot as I do my research. This stuff is very easy to use. I do recommend being careful heating it up if your using a microwave. If you heat it too much and even by adding hot distilled water ( which is a must to use because faucet water can cause bacteria to grow) It doesn't set right, even after it cools. I recommend melting it on the stove. That way you can watch it melt and it won't get too hot. After mixing the melted wax and water let it sit till it gets warm to touch or room temp before adding in your oils. Again if won't set good if you add in the oils when it's too hot. This has just been my experience. Also a little goes a long way. I made some errors in training lol You can basically add in any oils you like. I like to use pure cocoa butter oil, this is something you can melt down with the wax at the same time since it comes hard and chunky. Also I used coconut oil, avocado oil, vitamin E and D and grape seed oil. They all mix well with the wax. I may try bees wax next time to see which works better. Though I read the wax is better but will still try both..plus I want to make chap sticks and bees wax is the way to go for those.. I hope my review helps you. I know when I was reading other people's reviews it helped answer some of my questions I had in mind. Update. I deducted one star because I have found this product a lot cheaper in other stores. Not only is it cheaper but you get a lot more and it's the same thing. . My local Ocean state carries it so I'll be buying it from them from now on.
