When I saw UK Amazon was selling this in the US store, I was quite perplexed. Then I remembered newer PSUs don’t even need the switch in the back anymore. They automatically regulate the voltage (the information / range is actually written on the PSU) Given this was retail price, I decided to give it a shot. It came very quickly despite coming from the UK and I’m happy to report, it works fine. They provided two different AC cables both for European outlets, but I have so many unused power cables, it was easy for me to find one with the same readout (I actually used an AC cable that came with my 1200w Seasonic Prime Ultra). Of course, I tested the PSU first with one of the 100s of testers I had laying around (surprisingly, the PSU did not come with one). Readout was super convenient right on the device showing a whopping 13W. All the lighting worked fine as well as the OLED screen that displayed the 13W. That meant we were good to go. As for the PSU itself and the design, I really like what Asus is doing with their premium line. Gone are the days of over the top black and red, and in are the sleek, understated, but at the same time bold, designs that standout immediately. All of this is using premium materials from the device to the box. It seems they took a few plays out of Phantek’s book albeit I’ve always known Asus to be pretty premium outside of a few lines. It just seems like they stepped it up a notch and the design team is keen on not overdoing it or making it look too “gamer”. The color schemes aren’t all red and black but instead all black with silver accents to show off the all metal design. I love neutral colors then having the ability to match the build with RGB lights or some minor modding. This thing is hefty though and will definitely add a bit of weight to your build even though the size of the PSU is inline with modern 1000w PSUs. I am definitely glad I went this direction. It’s about $50 more expensive than a comparable 1000w platinum but you’re getting a robust design, an OLED readout which is more handy than you’d think, and proprietary 12 pin PCIe 5.0 cable which will look clean when I upgrade my GPU to the 4000 series card.

Netzteil mit ausreichend Reserve und genug Steckplätzen für die Spannungsversorgung. Außerdem wird die Momentane Leistung angezeigt.

The review headline might be cheesy, but it really appears to be best power supply you can get at the moment. Since: - It is using thermally-controlled fan with massive heatsinks, large size but huge cooling capacity. In my build it was able to operate with fan OFF until ~700W of load (yes really), and even at max ~800W my system was able to pull, fan only started to operate at minimum speed (~300RPM) so it was completely inaudible compared to rest of the system (which was already pretty quiet due to 2x360 water cooled beQuiets). This was the main reason I've got this PSU since I've noted this quiet fan curve in Cybernetics report. This was in O11D case which does not have great passive PSU airflow - I suspect it will be even better in "classic" case layout when main fans can directly push air though PSU mounted with fan side up as intended. - Its using Seasonic Platinum platform. Basically the best engineering you can get at the moment, but with improved cooling (own seasonics are too aggressive on fan), better heatsinks and better fan. PSU itself is absolutely silent and free of coil whine even on highest loads. - It comes with native 600W ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR cable, of great quality along with any other cables. Its not technically "ATX 3.0 PSU" because it does not have 12-pin connector on PSU side (instead using 2x8 pin plugs), but I personally prefer it this way - as I see no reason to use more fragile 12-pin connector even on PSU side. - I initially thought power reporting OLED screen is a gimmick which will be no use to me since O11D XL case uses dual-chamber layout which normally closed off PSU. But then I found that screen actually well visible though one of rear panels (with ATX mounting holes). So I bought a piece of dark-tinted acrylic same size as ATX PSU mount, with holes - and screwed it in place of original metal piece. Which allowed screen to be seen very easily and with nice "floating digits" effect. If you consider this, I recommend you might need not to delay for too long - as there been rumors of ASUS eventually dropping their current partnership with Seasonic for their future psu models.
