CAP Barbell Neoprene Dumbbell Weights Pairs & Sets | Multiple Colors

I am no expert in dumbbells, but I am happy so far with this very recent purchase. It arrived a week after ordering. The rack and each pair of dumbbells were in separate boxes, so there were six boxes total. One of the dumbbell boxes was slightly damaged but it didn't affect the dumbbells themselves. The rack requires assembly. I'm terrible at this sort of task, but even I found it to be quite straightforward, though a little elbow grease was required to tighten the bolts. There's an allen wrench included for the nuts but you need your own adjustable wrench to fit the bolts to tighten them. It takes a little time because there are a number of bolts to screw into place. I suggest leaving them all just slightly tightened until it is completely assembled so you can align things to your satisfaction before final tightening of the bolts. I couldn't get the top piece to fit exactly flush but it is close enough. The rack is sturdy and the dumbbells seem to be good quality. I noticed reviews for another dumbbell set from this company complained about a toxic rubber smell. These are neoprene-coated and I may notice a faint smell when I hold one next to my nose but nothing in the least bothersome. One of the rubber guards on the rack is not glued in place so I have to deal with that minor headache. So there are two minor issues (the loose rubber guard and the slight misalignment on the top piece) neither of which is a big deal at all. I'd give 4.5 stars if that were an option, and the price (especially the discounted Black Friday price I got) make these a really good deal. If you are a newbie, be aware that these may be too light for stronger people as the heaviest dumbbell pair is only 15 pounds each. These are perfect for me to get started toward my goal of increasing my strength and they may be for you too. [Edit] I'm reading other reviews indicating that some received one pair of dumbbells that were not black as all the others are. For the record, mine are all black. I'd definitely be miffed if one set weren't, because it would be a hassle to return everything and then hope a replacement was all black. Seems like a simple enough quality control issue for the company to address. Better yet, offer a selection of colors (for the entire set, not mix and match within the set).

CAP has been around for a long time doing these, so their reputation for a "good value" dumbbell is not to be questioned. Are there more "quality products" out there? Probably, but for the price and quality, this cannot be beat. I would personally rate those neoprene at about a 9.5/10 which is near perfect. They are VERY comfortable in terms of grip and the size is proportioned. Extremely easy to work out with, won't slip from your hands either and sweat won't be a problem with those. This was my starting kit (see picture, it's at the bottom of the medium rack). And although the rack works for the 3, 5 and 8 lbs. I ultimately chose to use it for my 1, 2 and 3 lbs. which I feel fit better. The rack is made of plastic too, so don't expect something industrial, but for tiny weights it is very nice. This collection would be great I'm sure for a woman starting out on weights, a kid or an elderly. For me though, I do a lot of drop sets and wanted to micro-manage my last set with the max I can tolerate after all that pain. Also important if you do boxing or martial arts to "shadow box" with, again with the max you can tolerate on a particular day. Finally those are great for jogging as well. Being black, they don't look corny like... pink, yellow or whatever weird pastel color which most light weights are. I think this is a great set to start out with if you want to build a "light weight" collection like I did.

Weights are exactly what I expected. Easy to assemble the rack but rack is a bit wobbly and no rubber grips on the rack which I neglected to notice in ad. Space saving item in my little at home gym.

Update: I do like it all and all weights are great but they all did. It come together and Amazon said it did but the company that sent the items were a day behind with the 5lb weights but did get them all. Will update later. Did not reciece the 5lb weights in this order.

These are the perfect storing size to fit tucked in any corner of my home. They are the perfect starter weights as I begin my weight lifting journey.

Small hands: I have small hands and am a petite person in general, and the grip on these is way better than others I have tried, they have enough girth to them to feel I have a good hold of them, but they are small enough that I don't feel like my hands are being fatigued just trying to make them fit around the handle. Material: Great grip to them, none of them arrived damaged. Happy to have hex shape so that they aren't rolling away from me like my old ones. Packaging: This is such a good deal for what you get. They were packaged so incredibly well, separated with padding and individually wrapped in plastic. They also didn't pair the weights together in one box; instead split them up into two boxes (and the holder in a third box) to make it easier (I hope) for the delivery person.

The 10 lb. set of dumbbells came in an off color and does not match the rest of the set which is black. I tried to see if there was a way to exchange just the one that was mismatched but Amazon wants me to return the whole thing which seems like a big hassle because the set is still functional. It is just going to look bad and bother me when I look at it and it doesn't match. The 10 lb. set to replace is almost half of what I paid for the whole set so I am undecided on just returning the whole thing and getting a different brand. It may be worth it to have it look nice even if I pay a little more for a different set. The set itself seems nice and I would have been very happy with it had it all matched.

I loves these weights and the stand. The Neoprene is great on the hands and they fit into a small space. I love that the weights are not too light or too heavy. I don’t lift heavy weights, I lift for toning and bone strength.

Bought this kit. Was hard to find them at a great deal as many listings are over priced due to scarcity of dumbbells' right now. Paid $45 for the kit. Dumbbells' are well made, stand is plastic but very sturdy. Now looking for an 8lbs pair. Some sellers want more than $100 for 8lbs when I bought as set of 6 and stand for less than half of that. Also have the larger CAP set 10 - 30 with steal stand. Also awesome!

These are seriously just as pictured, excellent quality weights. Frame is thin so be careful but you shouldn't have any problems!
