Palladium Men's Pampa Hi Boot, Vegan Canvas Lace Up Boot

i dont write reviews very often.. but these shoes are awesome! i cant go on enough about how happy i am with these shoes. ive always been looking for converse high top style in a boot form factor. both for style and the fact that i need warmer shoes. i was looking at these ones that Levi made but they got horrible reviews saying they were too heavy and poorly made. then i found these and thought i'd give them a try. they are cheaper than the levi's if i recall. they are also made really well. these shoes are alot like converse high tops, but made with much thicker and tougher canvas. i mean.. like military grade canvas. and its not like its made out of multiple layers of thin material like converse. these shoes are tough! the rubber is one solid piece too. converse has multiple pieces of rubber glued together- not these! it seems like every detail of these shoes were carefully thought out and made with high quality. even the shoelaces are perfect! they are flat which i love. they also have amazing grip, which is also pretty unique because the tread is widely spaced which keeps them nice and lightweight while actually providing better tread. ive had these for a couple months or so now, and i dont expect them to come apart soon. ive been abusing them. ive used them every time i ride my harley, and they get dragged alot. these shoes can be used as work boots (unless you need the steel toe) motorcycle boots, hiking boots, or even just every day shoes. theyre so comfortable, im actually still wearing them in the house right now. the only problem i encountered was that they took a week of wearing them daily to finally break them in enough to be comfortable. converse high tops need breaking in too, but not as much as these do. which makes sense, because they are made of much thicker canvas. but fast forward to now, and they are extremely comfortable and thoroughly broken in. i ordered a size 9 which is my size for converse high tops, and at first these felt so tight, i was ready to return them. i am SO GLAD i didnt because they just needed to be broken in. so if you think they are too tight GIVE THEM A CHANCE because trust me they need some breaking in and it will be worth it. in the end they are sized the same as converse high tops. they are not exactly waterproof, duh, its canvas. but surprisingly enough i havent felt my feet get wet from walking in the rain. i also did eventually spray it with waterproofing spray. all in all, ive never been happier over a shoe purchase. pros: -very tough, high quality build -stylish -comfortable, practical, lightweight -versatility. can be used for work, motorcycle, hiking, ect -no squeak -good grip -better arch support than converse high tops cons: -no steel/carbon fiber toe -needs breaking in -waterproofing spray needed

I've always worn Converse for as long as I could remember, and I really like the Breath-ability of canvas shoes. They don't tend to stink like other shoes I've worn. That's what drew me to these boots. I've have them (at the time of this review) for about 2 months or so, and they have broken in great. They conform to my feet, provide a good amount of support where I need it, and feel comfortable enough to use all day. Similar boots i've used usually show evidence of cracking and abnormal wear within a short amount of time, but these boots haven't done that yet. I work both in a sales showroom, and shop. They have held up great. Traction is a bit questionable in ice, but siping helps with that. Winter use will require some comfy boot socks to stay somewhat warm, as the material isn't real thick. I've managed to make them water-resistance by means of beeswax and a heat gun. If you dunk your boots, you'll still get wet, but by doing the beeswax method, walking in the snow will help keep your feet dry. Highly recommended.

I like these boots so much I bought four pairs in different colors. They are great for everyday wear. If you like Converse hi- top shoes you will love the Pampa Hi boots from Palladium. They are like hi-top sneakers (trainers), but even more comfortable with a thicker yet somehow more flexible sole. They fit true to size and are honestly some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I haven’t worn them on long hikes or in rough terrain so I can’t really evaluate their suitability for hard use but they are solidly constructed and would probably be fine for the type of hiking most people actually do. They are not waterproof if that’s important to you but they are great for daily all day wear and let’s face it, they just look really good. I purchased one pair because I liked the way they looked and three more shortly thereafter because I love the way they feel. Just my opinion but I love them. I highly recommend the Pampa Hi boots.

I have been a fan of Palladium boots since I bought my first pair maybe three years ago and I am currently on my third pair of 'pampas'. I view them as being the perfect combination of a of a pair of chucks and a boot. The soft soles are fantastic, they are stylish, well made and light. They can be worn with very thin socks straight out of the box. I find the canvas boots are perfect for the Australian summer, at least the hot dry states to the south. they breathe easy and when they get wet, they can be quickly dried. The light coloured canvas ones do get dirty very easily though, i have had a tan pair for a year or so and have had to regularly scrub and wash them to keep them presentable. this did not bother the shoes though, i have washed them maybe five times, fallen off a motorcycle wearing them grinding my heel, (ouch) but they are still in wearable condition. The soles are very soft and it takes roughly a nine months to a year to walk through them. This usually happens before the canvas starts to break apart. considering the lightweight construction and the soft soles, you couldn't expect better wear from them really. These shoes are great value for money and should be a lot more popular than what they are.... one thing though... BEWARE sizing. After my first black pair, I bought my second tan pair straight off the shelf. I forgot that although i am a 12 generally, i wear a 13 in Palladium. The 12s did not fit me and i was forced to return them i am unsure about the smaller sizes, but this anomaly is consistent across various models as well.

I absolutely love these boots. The first pair I bought were actually an Israeli clone of these called, "Commando Scouts". They were pretty much the same boot. I'm hard on shoes, so they normally don't last me a full year of ware-and-tare; the Commando Scouts almost did though. Eventually they will start to rip where the canvas meats the rubber sole, in crease points, and some along the back. I'm hoping that these will last a bit longer than the cloned version I first tried, and I will have to update my review in a year if they do. The size of these, I would say, fit a bit tight but I'm sure they will break in and eventually be fine. I normally where a size 13 fine but in these it would have been nice to have the option of 13 1/2. However, I'm guessing that the tight fit is due to added foam insole that the Commando scouts seem to lack. If you like the practicality of canvas, you will absolutely love these boots. They look great with my black m65 field jacket, also canvas so check it out. I only wish they would give more options like smaller tread on the bottom. The deep tread may be perfect for sand, but has a tendency to pick up small rocks. Edit: It's clear that these boots weren't initially designed to have that orange foam at the back of the hill of your foot. It moves your foot forward in the shoe, and makes for an awkward feel while stepping; not to mention, it makes a squeaking sound when you walk. Fortunately, the insole is easy to remove and a cheap pair from walmart does the trick.

The shoe feels great and look decent enough. I usually wear boots, but occasionally commute by bicycle, and don't want my Frye's and Red Wing's to get beat up by toe cages. I bought these as a solution to that problem and have been pretty happy with them for that. They feel good after wearing them all day and biking around town. Seem sturdy and like they'll last a while. The one complaint I have about them is their wet weather traction. I found myself slipping all over the place trying to walk on pebbled concrete after raining (ALL of the outdoor paths on campus and about half of them at work). After almost falling a number of times I chose to walk in the mud rather than risk breaking my bum or my laptop. The frustration was compounded because my secondary reason for purchasing these was to wear when it was ugly out, again, to protect my good boots, making them a bit useless for that.

I read a lot on sizing. I have long, wide feet and it is difficult to find shoes to fit my width. In Converse, I wear a size 12, but in the Palladium Pampa Hi I ordered a size 12 and a size 13. The 12s did not fit at all but the 13s were just right. They have a wide toe box and the length allowed my foot to take advantage.

Great lightweight boots, very comfy and idea for either city or countryside use. Made from canvas, so if you get them wet, they dry very quickly. Saw them on holiday in France and immediately wanted a pair. Nice range of styles and colours.
