The delivery from Amazon was prompt and well-packaged, as expected. No complaints on that front. As for the book itself — Starting Point is a gem for anyone interested in storytelling, animation, and the creative mind of Hayao Miyazaki. His thoughts are honest, deep, and incredibly inspiring. A must-read for artists and dreamers alike. Truly admire the writer's ability to articulate such layered philosophy in such a grounded way. However, I did notice a few signs that made the book feel slightly used — faint creases and minor wear on the cover. While it doesn’t affect the content, I just expected a more pristine condition for a new purchase. Overall, still a fantastic buy for the wisdom inside. Worth it for Miyazaki fans and creatives.

An interesting read for anyone that has seen any Miyazaki film or want to see them

I love this book! It's a fantastic read by a brilliant mind. This is not a novel but instead a collection of thoughts and essays compiled by Miyazaki, placed in chronological order. Having the book set up as a compilation makes it a great read before bed or something you are just looking to pick up once in a while. Of course you can read it all at once! but I feel that allowing each passage to sink in really helps to deliver the full effect.
