What is the lifespan for these? How many times can a block of seven kitchen knives (for example) be sharpened, before needing to be replaced?

They are good quality belts in my opinion, but you're asking a question not easily answered. Did the block of seven knives just slice 5 tomatoes each or were they used on an infomercial where they cut a boot in half then sliced 5 tomatoes? How dull and or damaged they are directly affects belt life proportionally. Duller they are the more wear you put on a belt to sharpen but I would approximate 50-100 knife sharpenings per set

Are these the actual work sharp belts, same belts that came with my blade grinder attatchment?

Yes, this is the 1" x 18" belt that only works with the blade grinding attachment (WSSAKO81112) as pictured on the box. The stated dimensions are 1" x 9.25" which is correct for an 18" belt (9" each side). The regular Ken Onion sharpening attachment uses shorter belts.

Are these OEM or aftermarket?

Our abrasive belts are not OEM. They are sourced in custom sizes just for our sharpeners. We do not make the abrasive itself, but they are not available anywhere else in these sizes. Our belts are manufactured to be fast cutting as well as cool cutting, meaning they will not overheat the blade, a unique combination.
