I have one similar to this. Mine, when the top part (hub, I think it's called?) gets wet, will get gray stain everywhere! Does this one do that?

The problem is that KitchenAid made the replacement hubs out of cast aluminum instead the original stainless steel. The wire is still stainless, but the hub is not. This is true of the ones bought through Amazon or directly from KitchenAid. When run through the dishwasher, the aluminum hub oxidizes and turns black. The black rubs off easily on your hands and food. I found a company that electroplated the hub for me. Now runs in dishwasher with no oxidation, no black junk on it.

will this fit my KSM150 5 qt.?

I have, an Artisan KSM 150, and I ordered this very item a few days ago and it came in today, Oct. 21, 2015. It was the first thing I checked this morning when it arrived, was if it would fit properly. And wala...it's an absolute perfect fit. So yes, it will most absolutely fit your 150.
