Perfect for canoes & kayaks
I'm back to buy this anchor again after losing one (my fault). Though it takes a second to properly deploy (you have to move the locking collar down the shaft to prevent the claws from closing), this little anchor held my 17' Old Town canoe in the strong currents of the Indian River Lagoon. Works very well and is extremely easy to pull back up. This also packs relatively easily into the carry bag. The only downside is the flimsy vinyl rope, but that's never stopped it from working effectively. It just doesn't fold back up as easy as some other rope might. Not a big deal to me though.

Great foldable anchor
Great boat anchor the rope just needs be little longer if you are out somewhere deep i just added rope to it it folds and stores away easily and doesn't take up any space keeps the boat from moving and not sliding on the bottom of the lake like some of the more spender ones do and seems to be well made.

A perfect anchor except for...
A very good Anchor for the price. A better value than Yak Gear. The anchor is well built galvanized steal and painted red making it easier to find should you lose it. The claws can be locked either the open or closed position. The bag that comes with it is made of sturdy nylon and is also padded. The only thing I'd recommend is include at least 50 feet of line because 25 foot is not long enough. Other wise I would've given it 5 stars. The line it comes with (although too short) is pretty heavy-duty and the marker Buoy and steel snap ring is a nice addition. I'm using their cord as a tow line for other crafts. I'd recommend this Yak Gear Product to use with the anchor: YakAttack SideWinder, Anchor Line Reel, Includes Track Hardware and 75' of 550 Paracord If you have a water craft heavier than 160 pounds including battery, motor and gear (minus the occupant), Don't waste your time on the 1.5 pound Anchor. the 1.5LB works well for 9 and 10 foot Kayaks. Anything bigger and I'd go with the 3LB or 3.5LB. My single-occupant Pontoon boat, with a full-sized battery Trolling Motor and gear was too heavy for the 1.5 LB and it wouldn't hold. The 3.5LB Anchor works perfectly. They show the Anchor tied at the top-end but "rock-Rigging" the Anchor (tied at the claw-end), is far better. If you tie it at the claw-end and zip tie the line at the top, you give the line a good pull and break the zip tie allowing you to pull the anchor out backwards if you get stuck. There are videos on YouTube that makes the rock-rigging easy. Search …"YakGear - How to "Rock Rig" an Anchor and Setup an "Add a Rope". Enjoy!

Good anchor for sups or kayaks
Used this with 2 sups on a very wavy/windy day and it kept us in place for the 45 minutes we laid out on sups. Lightweight and a nice carry bag, i can recommend this to anyone for a kayak or sup. good for fishing to post up somewhere too.

Float must-have!
Purchased 2 because we have a huge flotilla every 4th of July...this year we decided to anchor off the boat ramp. I have to admit, I was skeptical, but these anchors are very sturdy, have plenty of durable rope & were very easy to set up. Love the compact nature & convenient bag for storage. We had a floating livingroom, shade float, 2 seater, 2 coolers & a floating canopy held in place by just 2 anchors....no damage whatsoever to floats, they held exceptionally well!

Effective little anchor setup
Works well for use with paddle boards. Simple to use. Have used it in semi shallow back bay waterways. Kept the paddle boards maintained while the boats came and went. Appreciate the flotation device on the line so its clear where the line is in the water to others.

Not for sandbars or beaches, probably great for rivers with rocky bottoms
So the anchor is compact and feels solid for smaller vessels. I purchased for my seadoo because of its compact size. I mostly use for sandbars which is probably the problem. I can see how this would be effective in rocky bottoms but it does not hold my seadoo effective enough that I can leave its side. Would recommend for non sandy locations but avoid if sandbars/beaches are your primary use.

Perfect for PWC
Great anchor for my Waverunner. Holds the machine in place at the launch while I’ll park the truck. Also have used in along the shoreline when I wanted to just sit and chill without drifting. Great device, easy to transport, and well worth the money.

Stabiles Leichtgewicht
