How long does it take before the effect occurs?

I used one packet a day. Whoa it worked a little too well where before I was constipated I took this and 3 days later I had a bowel movement 5 days later I had diarrhea. I don't know if it has to do with my size ((5'2" 105lbs) but I went to the bathroom alot last night. I may have to cut back to every other day. So to answer your question it takes effect in about 3 days. I've tried them all ( Medimucil, Fibercon, Konsyl, Citrucel) and this is the only,thing that truly works. Hope my answer helped you.
