how do these compare to Caran d'ache Neopastels oil?

The Caran d'Ache Neopastel is an oil/wax pastel and the Faber-Castel soft pastels are dry, soft, and powdery. Beyond that very important difference (apples and oranges, really), there is a very large difference in quality and expectations here. So, for instance, no one using the Faber-Castel soft pastels should expect the pigments they are using to be lightfast, whereas Neopastels are each rated for lightfastness and, the last time I checked, they were mostly good to excellent in this regard. So, it's impossible to come up with a comparison here that makes sense. Hope this helps.

Are these full or half stick size?

Half stick - 1 1/8". I might add that mine came from England, shipped in a box much larger than the Faber-Castel box with no packing at all. I expected a disaster but the sticks were so well and tightly packed in the Faber -Castell box (which itself comes in a tightly fitted sleeve) that the pastels came through completely unscathed.

How did this set differ from the faber-castell creative studio soft pastel half sticks box of 48 sold at the same price?

Not familiar with the 48 box set. I have the 72 set which I think are great. Might be a difference in pastel length, but really can't verify that. Could also be a different range of color, but not certain of that either.
