Can these be used "backwards", to angle the speakers downward from a shelf that is above my head level when seated at my computer desk?

In theory, yes the only problem is that the lip that stops them from sliding backwards could potentially obstruct the bass port muddling your sound a bit. Never tried it but, seems plausible.

Does it fit the A2+ speakers?

Yes, I have the A2+ speakers and they fit perfectly. The sound quality was definitely improved with these stands as opposed to just placing the speakers directly onto a desktop surface.

Is this sold as 1 speaker stand or as a pair??

Calidad superior en material. SU COMETIDO , los graves son más redondos y claros lo que hace que mejore la espacialidad musical y con el subwofer añadido escuho mejor éste....de tal modo que distingo con más claridad los medios del altavoz un Bang Olufsen CX50 Restaurados y posados en soportes de suelo...TODO BIEN.
