Another update 3 years Updated 18 months later: still going strong. Great option for home shower.. without hoses on the faucet
Another update almost 3 years and still going strong. No worse for wear and in great working order with use 2 to 3 times per week. Still holding a good charge too. UPDATE 1.5 years later: So, still at the house with the iron infused water. I am STILL using this same unit. I use it probably 2-3 times a week. I have to charge it maybe once a month. It is in 100% perfect condition just as I purchased the unit. I don't always use the distilled water, sometimes the water labeled "drinking water" and I have had great results and my highlighted hair stays true to color. My stylist has been amazed at how well my coloring holds up between appointments. I definitely would tell people to buy this shower set up. It would definitely last you through a weekend camping too since I only have to recharge mine about once a month.. or maybe longer. It isn't a huge rush of water, but it does the trick for washing and rinsing my hair and it would be fine for a camp shower. The only thing I could suggest be improved is the shape of the unit. I have to tip the bucket to not lose suction when it gets towards the bottom. If it were sucking from the bottom, maybe with short legs to keep it a bit above the bottom of the bucket, it would be a little easier to use, but that really isn't a huge issue for me. I would not hesitate to tell someone to buy it. I bought this unit because I have a real problem with ferrous iron in my well water. The cost of a treatment system for my water is going to run well over a thousand dollars! The problem is that I also have highlighted hair. Anyone with blond highlights and iron in their water knows the nighmare of bozo orange hair! Not only does the water leave rusty deposits on my hair that impact the color.. even the texture and strength of my hair is compromised. So, I finally decided that I could no longer wash my hair in the well water. It was just flushing money down the drain. Just deciding to not have highlights wouldn't be a good option either.. cause the tinting issue and texture would still happen... just a little less noticeable.. So, I decided to wash my hair with distilled water. The first couple of times I just used a scoop and poured it over my head while I leaned over the bath tub. Dang it was COLD and uncomfortable. Then, I decided to heat the water a little on the stove.. not as cold.. but still uncomfortable and always ended up with water in my ears that took a long time to clear. That's when I saw this. BINGO.. problem solved. I just fill a container with a gallon of warmed distilled water and put it away from the shower stream and can wash my hair. The suction cup stays up great on the shower wall and the spray is gentle but good enough to rinse my hair. I am so glad I got this!

INCREDIBLY AMAZING!!!
When my water heater went out 2 weeks ago, I had no choice but to heat water from my electric kettle and a bowl of water in the microwave (both going at the same time). I filled my bath tub halfway with cold water, and the other half with the manually heated water. It took an hour and a half before the tub reached a desirable temperature suitable for bathing. I was so exhausted after making several trips back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom. I really didn't enjoy my bath because after washing my hair, I was bathing in shampoo water and it felt disgusting and like I wasn't getting myself clean and rinsed off. Well, 2 weeks of this nonsense was driving me crazy!! I thought about going to the Pilot truck stop because I heard they have clean showers set up like a hotel room and you don't have to be a truck driver to use them; you simply pay $7 per shower. But that can add up daily. The next thing that came to mind was to join a gym and just shower up there after a nice workout, but I would have to pay a $60 fee upfront and sign up for auto-payment using my checking account at $20 per month after that. Sounds like a simple solution right? Well, it is if you're not on a tight budget like I am right now. I would love to purchase a new hot water heater, but at $600 tops for the one I need (unit, delivery, installation) it is going to have to remain on my "to do" list a little bit longer. So I decided to do some internet surfing on my favorite Amazon website and searched for portable showers and came across this unit. It sounded wonderful, and I made sure I read the reviews first before purchasing. It received great reviews so I added it to my cart and even paid an extra $10 for same day delivery (to break the madness of not having a clean shower, of course). It arrived about 6 hours later and was very easy to assemble. It comes with a USB cable to charge on your computer, so I plugged it in and headed off to a birthday party. By the time I got home, it was fully charged and ready to give it a "test drive". I used a 5 gal bucket I had purchased at Wal-Mart earlier for $3. It only took me 20 min to heat the bucket compared to 1 1/2 hour. Drop the pump into the water, turn it on, and you get a nice flowing shower. The shower head is actually larger than my current hand-held brand so I am getting more shower water with this one. Not knowing what to expect from this gadget, I kept thinking it would drain my bucket water quickly and I would be stuck wearing soap suds (a cold water rinse was not in the plan). But to my surprise, it slowly drained the water and I had more than enough left over that I just stood there and enjoyed the water (make sure to power off when soaping up). I went to bed a very happy CLEAN camper!! The next day, I bought a second 5 gal bucket with a lid (to hold the water temp in while not in use), a 5 gal solar shower bag ($10). Now before I go to work: 1) I fill the shower bag in the morning 2) set it directly in the sun 3) fill both buckets half full from the faucet so it reaches room temp by the time I get home. I get home and empty the shower bag into both buckets (both filled to the rim). The water is really warm from sitting in the sun all day (8.5 hrs). I put the lid on the second bucket until ready to use. Shower with the first bucket, remove lid from second and wash hair. I don't run out of water this way because I have long hair and it takes longer to rinse shampoo. I hope this was helpful. Thank you for taking time to read!!!

Saved our skins during our last camping trip; would highly recommend!
I bought this for camping; to shower, clean boots, etc. It worked BRILLIANTLY! Our last camping trip was a four-day regional burning man event with no showers or even running water--in late May in Texas and it rained every day--so you can just imagine the heat, humidity, and mud. I don't know how we would have made it without this shower. We set it up out back of our camp with a five gallon bucket and our washcloths and towels, and used the bucket lid as an impromptu mat to stand on. It worked GREAT for showering and washing hair, and during the heat of the days we could easily grab a quick cold rinse-off to keep from frikken passing out in the heat and humidity. For a warm shower we added hot water heated on our camping stove. At some point we realized we didn't pack the USB charging cable and figured we'd be SOL after a couple of days of use, but the doggone thing held a charge the whole time, only getting truly feeble the afternoon of the last day while we were packing up to leave. We were really surprised at that and SO thankful! Great purchase and I'd highly recommend. One side-note: Part of why we were so surprised at the battery's longevity is that we used this shower so frequently every day... not just to shower and keep cool but to follow a protocol to protect us from poison ivy. The entire festival site for this event is plagued with poison ivy and it's a huge annual issue for most participants. I want to share the protocol we've found because it's so effective. As many people know, the urushiol oil in poison ivy is what gets you. The oil is sticky and like other oils is waterproof and quite resistant to washing off, even with warm water and soap. What most people don't know is that the oil needs 2-3 hours to penetrate your skin and set off a reaction, so if you can get it off you before then you're in the clear. A good degreasing soap (we use Dawn dishwashing soap) does the trick, but here's the common problem people have: scrubbing with your hands, even really vigorously, leaves traces of oil behind. The webs between fingers/toes and the backsides of forearms are notorious spots... t's crazy how many poison ivy rashes begin on the back of a forearm because folks thought they washed up well but didn't scrub the backs of their arms enough. The fix is to use a washcloth to scrub up, and it WORKS. We got stuck having to set up in a spot RIDDLED with poison ivy on the ground and with this protocol of washing up regularly, using Dawn dishwashing soap and a washcloth, we avoided any outbreaks. We each had our own washcloth and rinsed them thoroughly after each use. We're both very sensitive to poison ivy and get TERRIBLE rashes from it, so our success with this protocol is a Big Deal with a capital B and a capital D. Try it and share it!

Overall a good emergency shower head. A few minor issues but worth the price
The holding attachment and hanger for the shower head were useless. However, as I was using this in my own bathroom shower enclosure, I removed my regular shower head from its holding brace and hung this shower head there in its place. My shower quit working properly a few days ago, and I bought this camp shower assembly as a temporary solution. It was easy to assemble the few pieces that needed to be attached. It charged quickly. The water pressure it generated wasn't as strong as a real shower's water pressure but was better than I expected. You have to be careful when you rinse to avoid getting soap in your water bucket. Tomorrow, I plan to set the bucket just outside the shower instead of inside with me. The tube is is long enough for a little extra reach. Again, the biggest problem you will have is that the clip-and-hanger pieces that come with it will not securely hold the sprayer head. You can easily set something up, I'm sure, with a loop of bungee cord or even (if youhave pliers), a thin coat hanger, unfastened from itself, that you can twist and loop to make something that will work. My hair is short. I think I used about 4 gallons total to shower, wash my hair, rinse. A really good camp shower head, and preppers may want to keep one in their supplies.

Handy, portable, battery powered, ample flow shower
I find the Ivation portable, battery-powered shower, to be a useful device. I showered my legs & feet after a sweaty summer hike, and also when camping. It is fairly light weight, folds up & stores easily. A mounting clip is included to help stabilize for limited hands-free operation. It has basic functionality, so expect to spend Only as much shower time to use it with Major regard to the amount of water available. I have listed some points that I think are worth some time for thought... 1) flow rate is fairly strong but fixed (non adjustable); TEST IT FIRST 2) comfort level is based on you and I suggest that You make no assumptions; TEST IT FIRST ! The water temperature you are used to may require some forethought. 2) powering On-Off is by pressing a button on the pump/battery, which is always submerged during use 3) the shower’s water supply is dependent on amount of water available. It may take more than one bucket to satisfy user; TEST IT FIRST ! I RECOMMEND that you Test the shower BEFORE going out on a trip, as some experience should help replace unsupported expectations. The shower provides a fairly strong and even flow, but the flow rate is fixed, and for only as long as the water supply lasts. If your water intake is a constant water-source, as from a lake or natural stream, you should be OK, as long as there is no debris to clog the included inline water filter. The On-Off switch is located on the pump/battery, which is submerged during shower use (I wish this function was improved) and so to turn on/off the shower head, you MUST turn on/off the pump. That is that. The functions are COMBINED. Some people are accustomed to spending several minutes while showering. If you have a large water supply, then good for you. One should understand the amount of water needed for a 5 minute use and then add an additional amount of water necessary to keep the pump/battery submerged. as that is what my experience indicated; that extra half-liter maintains the minimum water volume needed to keep pump immersed, which is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED for uninterrupted use. The pump/battery (one unit) MUST be Primed and stay submerged during use. Not is biggy, but the unit may be damaged if not operated as instructed. I like it. I have not used it enough to judge battery use longevity but, when fully charged, it provided me with power for a 6 minute shower. Hint: if for a full body shower, maybe lather and rinse hair First, before the body wash. I also think that the individual suction cup supplied, is just not strong enough, by itself, to be adequate to hold up the shower head during active use. There is a hook included, but if you have no support for a hook, then I can’t see how that helps much.

Great portable shower
Works great, just turn it on and stick it in a bucket of water. Motor works fast and the flow of water is good. I like that it’s rechargeable and it can be use multiple times before I need to charge it. It also comes with a suction and hook so you can hang it up and use hands free.

Have a dog that likes to swim in salt water? Or roll in the mud??
I purchased this shower because I had a golden retriever on the way, and fully expected to have a water dog and the only thing worse than 'wet dog' smell is 'wet dog from saltwater' smell. As I wanted to get him used to a portable shower as a puppy, actually got it before he was ready to come home with me. This shower has turned out to be one of the best dog related purchases I have made. At home, I use in the bathtub for a more focused wetting and rinse at bath time - I just fill a bucket of water and off we go. The pressure is perfectly acceptable for human shower (though for every day I do like a bit more power - I have long hair), yet not so powerful that it's scary for pup. The added bonus however is having a travel shower. I purchased a 5 gallon upright cooler (of the type sports teams may use for drinks or water on the field), choosing upright so the pump would stay submerged the longest/take up less room in vehicle, and have that tied down in the cargo area of my vehicle with his shower system right next to it - when he gets muddy at the park, or swims in the bay, we simply shower him off at the rear of the vehicle, towel dry a bit and off we go. The mud has no time to dry requiring a full bath, and the car doesn't get that swampy smell or filthy. I can usually get 3-5 full baths on 1 charge for him and many rinse offs (8 or more, depending on level of rinse). If working quickly, I typically can get 3 thorough rinse offs from 5 gallons of water which is handy for his puppy friends that also rolled in the mud. The pump itself is not very loud. I have been using this shower for 7 months now for every bath and at least 2 rinse off's a week (sometimes 5 in a week) and it is still functioning as new. I hope it lasts years more, but if it doesn't - I will definitely replace with another of the same.

Quality of the materials could be better
This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. I have a burst hot water pipe under a slab foundation and will have to wait until I can afford the repair. In the mean time, I needed a way to take a shower. I saw this unit while searching for a way to heat large volumes of water. I use this in conjunction with the bucket heater (I've written a review for it as well). After heating a 5 gallon bucket of water, I use this unit to take as shower. As others have stated, in order to not worry about wasting water; or having to turn the unit on/off repeatedly while bathing, you want to thoroughly wet yourself, and then put the shower head back into the bucket of water; soap up; then retrieve the shower head to rinse. I've used the method and found that 5 gallons of heated water is more than enough to take a shower. I hate having to get undressed to wash my hair in the shower, so even after my pipes are repaired, I expect to continue to use this unit to wash my hair. Note: Although this shower is adequate for bathing, this unit will not have the same pressure as your regular shower head. I charge it ,(with an ac adapter), after every use and I have yet to have it go out on me. I'm glad to see that the price was lowered,as this is a solid plastic unit and the original price was too high for the quality of the material. The only negative that I have abt the product is that because the pump is about 1 inch above the intake slots; the pump will stop pulling water before all the water is drained from the bucket. This was a problem for me on my very first usage of the shower; but now I have made the adjustments. There is a poster that have included a very video on how to unit assembles and work. **************************** Edited Review 8-26-2015**************************************************************************************8 As I stated earlier this is an excellent product and does exactly what it is designed to do. However, I have come back to modify my rating. I've owned this product for less than 4 months now. And I use it at least 4 times a week to shower. It takes me about 10-15 minutes to shower. After the 3 month mark. My unit started to seep water around the shower head and the hose. I've tried applying more and less pressure to attaching it but that did not stop the leak. I then tried other washers this did not work either. I finally contacted the company for advice on how to correct the problem. It was beyond my 30 day no hassle return period. They did issue me a RA and offered to send me another unit. I refused because although the water is seeping out; it still works and I did not want to be without a shower while waiting on my return to be processed and another to be sent out. So let me restate that the company did offer to replace the item. And reminded me that the item has a 1 year guarantee. Finally I contacted a handy-man to ask advice on how to stop the leakage. And he suggested that I use plumbers tape around the joint until I could get a water tight seal. Eureka! That worked and now I am able to use the shower again without losing water from seepage out of the joint around the hose and shower head. I reduced my rating from 5 stars to 2 because of the quality of the material. ************************************************* ********************************* Update December 2015 ************************************************************* Sad to say that after 6 months the unit stopped working. It just stopped no slowing down no funny sounds. It continues to charge but the unit no longer comes one when the switch is pressed. So I will be purchasing another. Fortunately, there is now another company selling a very similar product for 1/2 the cost of this one.

Pricey but really easy to use and worth every penny!
I didn’t want to spend this much on a portable shower, and was worried it would be flimsy and not very powerful. Boy was I surprised! I bought this to allow me to wash my 42kg Labrador outside in the garden, he is too big to lift into the bath, hates being washed and I have to ferry loads of buckets of warm water to and from the kitchen, as I don’t want to use a cold water garden hose. This shower is a game changer, and makes bi-monthly bath time so much easier. I filled a large garden grid from the cold hosepipe, topped it up with 3 kettles of boiling water - inserted the shower pump and managed to wash and rinse my dog in under 30mins. I didn’t even need that much water, despite using lots of shampoo and giving him a good rinse afterwards. It’s brilliant, and providing the battery life and recharging capabilities work for a good few years - I reckon it’s worth every penny! I did research lots of reviews of outdoor showers before choosing this one - and it got great reviews online and in product tests for camping magazines
