Fits the largest bear ball and has good attaching points
Fits the largest bear ball and has good attaching points. However, I planned on attaching it to the outside of my pack, only to find that it upsets the pack/load/balance to a point i couldn't deal with. At that point it became a pretty good stuff sack for other gear, attached externally.... if the bear ball was empty it might be more valuable. I pack pretty dense food and it is more convienent to not have to reload the bear ball each night. That weight makes up the majority of my load on long trips, it has to be inside my pack. other packs may perform better and if so, this will be an excellent addition for the weight.

Poor material
The bag easily rips. I have had 3 rip on me so far so it’s not a error on my part. The material is just not rugged enough for the backcountry. My friends have had similar experiences.

Nylon Carrying case worked perfectly for carrying my new bear ...
Nylon Carrying case worked perfectly for carrying my new bear vault on the outside of my backpack. It has a zippered end so you can access it while hiking too. Comes with 4 loops stitched on the case and 2 straps for attaching it to your pack. Outside attachment was the only option for me as we where hiking in damp climate with no room left inside my pack. Just be sure to take it out of the case for stowage at night...or you might find your food missing in the morning with a bear being able to grip the case in its teeth and carry it away.

Designed for the BC500 canister, but BC450 fits with room to spare
I own 2 of the BC450 bear canisters (shorter model), but this carry bag still works. This bag is designed for the larger BC500 canister for a snug fit, but I can put my 450 in it and it leaves me room for my stove or other gear in the void. Lightweight material so you're not adding many ounces to your pack, but it sure is worth the weight to free up some pack space unless you're planning to go really lean. This carry case could also be used as an external sleeping bag pouch, rain clothing carrier, etc. Lots of uses, and an easy zipper access on the rounded side.

No bears! Kept my food dry too
Worked like a charm! The cover made it so easy to hang at night as well as get out of my pack. I debated about the extra cost, don't because it's a perfect combo for bear country!!

Tight fit for a Bear Cache canister
The bear Cache fits in it, at first I didn't think it actually would, it was pretty tight especially around the center bulge of the canister. Doesn't really feel like $22 worth of material but we'll see after some use. I can't imagine on first look that this will last very long, it's not fantastic by any means. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I'm kind of doubting it at the moment. Time will tell.

This product makes it so much easier to suspend the Backpackers' Cache - bear proof container in a tree as one would a bear bag. I thank the manufacturers for the quality product that they have made available to the world.

Not worth it.
Such a waste. So clunky. Just get a bigger backpack if you're going to lug this around.
