Does this shampoo contain detergent?

Yes, actually it contains several detergents. However all shampoo products contain either detergent or soap (otherwise they would not function to clean your hair). The difference between soap and detergent is that soap is produced by rendering animal or vegetable fat with lye. Detergents are simply molecules which bind to and help wash away hydrophobic (oily) waste using water. That being said, I can tell you (as a biochemist) that these are some very sophisticated and gentle detergents. They leave your hair feeling WONDERFUL and they are very soothing to the scalp. I've been using this product for years and I love it.

ok for color treated hair?

Perfect for color treated hair! I credit this shampoo and conditioner for keeping my hair ( very long and color treated for many years) in terrific shape.

How many shampoos can you get to travel size?

I get approx 12 shampoos. You only need a small amount. I was my hair every other day, so it lasts nearly a month.
