Excellent golf aid with consistent training!
I was really struggling with my putting this golf season. Standing over a 2-4 foot putt with fear of pushing and pulling the putt makes golf much less enjoyable. I knew I needed to develop muscle memory and build my confidence with repetitive motion. This putting mat is fantastic! The alignment lines help to keep the putter face square at address and impact and it promotes a smooth backstroke and follow thru. You can focus on the path of your swing and not where the ball goes. The slight uphill finish to the hole helps develop proper speed so my longer putts rarely miss short on the course. The ball return works fine. It is a more realistic speed when placed on a wood/tile floor or other hard surface. A nice tip to use...mark a vertical line on your ball and after making impact on the 7' putt length, watch to make sure the line is rolling end over end and not wobbling or moving to the side. This will show you if you have struck the ball properly and on line. When you see that happen consistently on the course, you know you have improved your stroke. I am rolling in putts of all lengths now on the golf course since practicing with this. My lag putts are usually within 3-4 feet, putts 10-20 feet are going in or just barely missing (rarely short) and my 3-6 footers are going in over 80% of the time. I would highly recommend this product. It is cheaper than a one-hour putting lesson.

Great, except for the ball return
I must be taking crazy pills, or I received a defective unit. Most reviews state that the ball return works marvelously - one even states it works 29 out of 30 times. I have had the exact opposite experience. The ball return MAYBE works 1 out of 5 times because the hole is not sloped far enough downward, so the ball literally just sits there in the cup. When it does work its way down the cup, it usually gets stuck where the cup meets the "tunnel" and just sits there. It is very, very, very frustrating. Other than that, I really like the mat. It no doubt will help you get a smoother and more consistent putting stroke. Also, like other reviewers have mentioned, I believe this mat will train you to really over-hit the ball, so once you get out on the course and miss a putt, don't be surprised if you miss by going 5+ feet past the hole. I can get over that - I can't get over the awful ball return. Seriously, the "ball return" (at least mine) really is that bad.**Update**I received a second putting mat, and this one's ball return is substantially better. It now properly returns about 9 out of 10 balls as it should, and as somebody in the comments said, the 1 ball it doesn't return can easily be returned when you hit a second ball in. At that point, they both typically return. I brought the other mat into work, and we can consistently make 4 balls into the hole - literally at a time - with none of them returning. Clearly, that first mat must have been slightly defective.Upping my rating to 4 stars with this much better experience.

Nice product for indoor practice
I received the putting mat today and quickly opened the box and set it up. A couple of notes. First, the mat was well protected in the Amazon double-box. The manufacturer's box, inside the Amazon box was in perfect condition. Second, the mat rolled out on my floor with none of the lumps and wrinkles noted in some other reviews. It may be that other orders were in the cold of winter, but with our 90+ daily temperatures, the mat came out of the box very pliable. I ran a hand over the mat once placed on the floor and found no lumps. So, how does it work? The description said it would roll at around a 10 stimp. It seems to do just that. It is definitely not a slow surface. The silk screened markings on the mat are fairly crisp, but more importantly, the instructions note how to take advantage of them in practice--back swing then follow through. I tried their suggestion and it seemed to work very well.I had low expectation for the "automatic" ball return. It is a non-electric gravity feed system. To my surprise, it had returned every one of the first 25 or so balls I've putted. Neat feature. The rise at the cup is intended to teach you to putt with enough authority to get the ball past the hole--it works. A wimpy putt rolls up the slope then back to your feet. A well struck putt stays on line and drops nicely. After only a few hours, I'm convinced that I can learn something from this device. Mostly, how to get the ball to the cup. One tip I quickly picked up was that if I used the markings on the mat which show how far to take the back stroke and how far to follow through, I made a stroke with a longer follow through than back stroke and the ball rolled much better. Practice of this technique will definitely improve my putting.I suspect that practice may become boring after a while. I wish that the manufacturer had included some methods or suggestions to increase the challenge. Maybe an insert to reduce the hole size so you have to hit the center of the cup. Also, some suggestions for placing a magazine under one side (to create some breaking putts) would add to the usefulness of this mat. An extension (maybe five feet) that could be velcroed to the base mat would allow practice of longer putts would be a nice upgrade. For the price, it is an excellent practice device. The fact that you can use it in the comfort of your air conditioned home during the hot August days is a blessing.Bottom line: I like it, recommend it and would buy it again. If you are missing more than your share of 8 footers, give this a try. It may show you where you're going wrong.

It's a start
If you want to improve your putting, this product is a start. I have a 13ft by 4 ft putting mat in my backyard & use that as often as I can. But for quick & easy access, I put this accelerator in my office at home, use it when I'm on the phone, things like that! It does the trick, it's a little flimsy & thus a little pricy for what you get. You really can only practice straight on puts as the mat is narrow & there is only one hole. I like the incline & having to put heavy enough to get the ball the the hole, that's a good practice habit. If you are serious about improving your putting, you have the space and can invest more in a putting mat, get something larger and more versitle like the Big Moss products. If you have nothing else and want something simple, not expensive & quick and easy, this product works & this will do the trick for you.

Solo le falta funda, preferentemente rigida
Los materiales son de buena calidad, el diseño es practico, solo le agregaria un estuche rigido para protegerlo pues la partedonde se regresan las pelotas se ve un tanto fragil.

excellent putting mat
This is an excellent putting mat. I've been using it for few days and loving it so far. My handicap is 13 and mainly due to putting issues.- First, the mat itself feels great and the speed is average and same to my surrounding golf courses.- 2nd, I can feel that the mat is not perfectly flat but it does not bother me. I would have the same feeling in a real putting green.- concerning the length of 8 ft, I've added a "blue" moving blanket next and has the same hight. From there I can step on it and would have my feet at the same level as the ball.- return on ball: I have no problem with it. It works most of the time (90% so no problem there). But to speed up the process, I use 2 balls so I can place the next ball by the time the other one is returning toward me.all in all, I really like this SKLZ accelerator pro ball return putting mat which give me confidence in my putting length on a real golf course.
