Why do you put sugar in the toothpaste that is swallowed and not spit out?

The sugar in it is like xylitol but for animals since xylitol is deadly to them. Xylitol is 'sugar'that is good for your teeth(Hence in gums) unlike the sweet sugar. So that sugar in CET is good for pets' teeth. Actually my vet who went to ivyleague vetschool(Upenn) said it is not brushing but the enzymatic toothpaste works so food debris+bacteria doesnt thurn into plaque and tartar. Many docs and common sense I know it is the brushing(for humans brushing and fluoride important). BUT I trust Dr. Hsu, cat liver 11cat owner in Hawaii, graduate of UPenn ivy league vet school. I asked that she eats a lot and i brish 3 times a day with 2-3qtip(4-6tips). He said if poop is fine and she likes it , nothing to worry (but maybe I do give too much). And i asked what if she has stomachache but that she cant speak and she just decide to eat it? He said we humans eat spicy food and get stomachache but it isnt deadly. So I may try to use Nolvadent(the one all pets hate) one time in lieu. But then who knows maybe nolvadent also bad?? But TBH, nothing is worse than having toothpain in life!!!

The back of the tube says imported from Canada? I was checking as a previous tube I bought from another company says made in China.. so I'm double checking before purchasing something else.
